Just Waffles — Restaurant in Vancouver

Nice people, very attentive, seem honest. Very small spot, slightly uncomfortable. Self serve coffee and tea. Sadly, could be better food. Its too bad mostly microwaved, assuming the waffles are (you can hear it going off a lot). I don't see why they cant be made fresh? Name like Just waffles, I would like them cooked fresh, they don't take long. Seems like there kitchen might not be well equipped? Is there an oven even back there? Had the eggs benny with chicken and asparagus. I was thrown off by the sweetness, they said they do herb and garlic for the pizza ones. Don't understand why they don't for the savory Benny's? Too dense and thick, no crisp. Eggs cant be poched soft, too bad. Asparagus and chicken had salt and cooked well. But should use thighs for more flavor and seasonings. Over all for 22 bux a pop I felt this was not really worth the money or stop. pretty basic food. Also for a table of 5 the seating was poorly arranged....

When in for breakfast came out with an amazing culinary experience, sights, taste, vibe all off the hook! A Mama& Papa joint, literally! I was educated on the history and the day today operation of this unique waffle restaurant by the 2 owners the Chef and the front of the house wonderful, delightful, sweetheart of a "Lady"! They spoke of how the waffles were made and the obstacles they have overcome to maintain this lovely diner! They truly put their hearts and lots of care in maintaining this really unique eatery! If your in the neighborhood or in the city or have the need for tasty well prepared waffles you should make an effort to visit, you will not be disappointed! This restaurant and the owners are truly what makes dining out a great experience! 10 out of 10 for food. 100 out of ten for atmosphere and personality. It’s been a few days since I visited Just Waffles but I am still thinking about the experience. The food was great, they have a wonderful selection of liege waffles with eggs Benedict on top, creative flavours (and a vegetarian option!), and much more that I’ll be back to try!

Cathy and Calvin are the sweetest people, too. I have some dietary restrictions that limits me from eating in restaurants, but they told me how they’ve curated their recipes and I was so impressed at the attention they put on good quality, healthy ingredients. Everything was so delicious and fresh!

I came in to eat alone, but it felt just like eating at my auntie and uncle’s place. The food, service, and atmosphere felt very homely. But don’t be fooled, their waffles are better than some of the more expensive brunch places can offer. Definitely come dine with Cathy and Calvin! Love...
