After trying the vanilla mochi cake at a farmers market I visited the bakery. The cafe has an even bigger selection of baked goods than they bring to the markets (including hot curry pan), a coffee/tea bar, and on Saturday, sandwiches. Non-dairy milk (oat or soy) is offered for drinks, but vegan options are limited to bread rolls/loaves and the croquette bun. There's also a little retail area with tea and some crafts. The shop is nothing fancy but it's cute and unpretentious, and clean. As you might expect from a Japanese establishment, the staff is super polite. I got a veggie curry pan ($6), a slice of mont blanc tart ($8.25, it was a big slice), and a black sesame latte ($5.5). Again, I really enjoyed everything. The curry pan is almost like a curry-filled donut with its airy texture. The panko coating gave the outside a nice crunch. I found there was a good amount of the filling but not too much, so it wasn't spilling out. It tasted so fresh. I don't think I've tried something like this before and it was very memorable! The mont blanc tart was also delicious, just the right amount of rich and not too sweet. The black sesame latte used coarser-ground black sesame than other black sesame lattes I've tried. I got it unsweetened so I got to enjoy the straightforward nutty black sesame flavour. Like with the vanilla mochi cake from the market, I like how Japanese sweets have more delicate flavours instead of being sweet or heavy. The bakery is a little out of the way for me but even so maybe I'll go back since it was a fun place to visit. If not, I'll definitely keep an eye out for them at...

I found this place when searching Google for Japanese Milk Bread. They call it Maple Cream Loaf – a Japanese Milk Loaf made with Cream & Maple Syrup. It is slightly sweet, and more dense than the other Milk Bread made by non-Japanese bakeries. Since we went there before lunch time, I was a bit surprised that the bread felt cold as though it had been in a fridge or a freezer – whereas, I expected it to be still warm from the oven. On day one, we made pastrami sandwiches with pastrami from Omnisky's and pan fried the Maple Cream Loaf slices. The bread was dense enough to hold the hot pastrami, the slight maple & cream was very tasty and mad a delicious sandwich. In other Asian Milk breads I can taste the yeast, but the Kanadell Maple Cream Loaf did not have an obvious yeast flavour which makes it more buttery and pleasant. I like the 'spongy' texture which they call 'mochi mochi' texture. The second day, I grilled the outside and we ate it with butter, very delicious and not dried up. I also tried the Curry Beef Pan. The outside was perfectly katzu-crispy, the inside is something else, I expect mashed potatoe since it looks so much like a croquette, but instead it is mochi bread dough which was super chewy and awesome. Some yummy!!!! I did not detect MSG or garlic in the curry beef which is great because I cannot handle those ingredients. Next time we drive by, it would be impossible to resist...

γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ† !! MIGHTY Matcha 抹茢 Mini Bites!! Thank You Kanadell Bakery! These Matcha Mini Bites are super yummy and curb my matcha fix every time! This joint is dope, an awesome quaint little bakery serving high quality, authentic and quirky baked goodies made with wholesome ingredients. Everything tastes so fresh. The Mini Bites are awesome, fluffy and light as a cloud but absolutely stuffed with high-grade fillings mochi style on the perfect consistency giving a real delicate taste. The bakery itself is a real nice place to grub, boasting a large area with a clean, minimalistic and natural vibe with an awesome chilled out atmosphere. They also serve matcha and hojicha based Teas as well as coffees both hot and cold as well as a lunch menu. This place has something for everyone, regardless of what your tastebuds are craving with fantastic value for money. Staff are super friendly, approachable and very talented at making delicious Japanese baked goodies! They have a soft opening next door for a grocery-based mart which also has some great authentic Japanese produce and snacks. This place is justifyingly super busy and a huge hit, I saw loads of people coming in to place big orders. Get them whilst their hot!! をダム Support...

I ate these melon buns in Japan. I am glad that I could buy and eat them at farmers markets in Vancouver. Now I am even happier as I can buy their melon buns at their bakery. Theses melon buns have different flavours such as original, hojicha, matcha, earl grey and etc. I love them all. (I don’t like the melon buns with mochi inside which are the ones that sell at a Japanese bakery on Fraser street). They also sell other savoury buns and loaves of fluffy bread. One of the savoury buns I love the most is their (deep fried) curry beef bread. The curry flavour smells and tastes so good and this is exactly the Japanese curry flavour. πŸ˜‹ Last but not least, the Japanese servers or staff there were very friendly and polite. As I could only buy some of their buns and bread at a time, I would like to go back and try other ones one day.
