Visited twice within 2 weeks. Tried a few combos, overall food ingredients were nice & fresh. Horenso Gomaae, Unagi Don, Spicy Tuna Sashimi, Assorted Nigiri, Assorted Rolls.... all were very tasty. Miso soup was good at the first visit. It was too salty at the second time (a bit disappointed). There was quite a strong fishy smell when we stepped in the restaurant (the ventilation wasn't very good). Windows were not very clean. There were flies flying around that really annoyed us. One fly even landed on my almost finished Unagi Don... Service was attentive, especially from the owner (Master Chef). He was very friendly & courteous. If the ventilation is better (air-conditioned) & the entrance door can be kept closed to prevent flies from getting into the food, this restaurant is worth to visit.

This neat sushi spot on the corner of Richards and Pacific Streets makes all the fan favourites rather well and has a few unique dishes to showcase the creativity of the chef. This is our local go-to, and it is always a warm greeting from the owner (and chef) the moment we enter, and a friendly farewell when we leave. You will notice plenty of regulars who either dine here or swing by for take out. The fish is fresh and served in generous portions. For something special: we recommend their Rising Sun roll which uses a delicate soy bean wrap which adds a subtle accent to the mix of soft filing and crunchy roe topping. Otherwise, any combination of their other rolls makes for a nice, balanced meal.

For me, this place fell below the current standard of Sushi Vancouver. The overpriced Miso Soup was so concentrated that... I couldn't eat it (see pic.) I say overpriced because the $2.50 for a Miso Soup is above current prices in the city....moving on.... The Sushi itself was decent, but the environment took away from the quality of the dishes. It was dark, gloomy with lights burnt out and dusty tables. Our server was unfriendly and rushed us from beginning to end. The first thing that hit me after walking out disappointed was the thought that this place just needs some serious TLC. Maybe dust it off a bit.....metaphorically and literally.

A long standing sushi restaurant in Yaletown and for good treason! The seafood was fresh and rolls were all super unique!

Ume - my fav roll of the night. I loved how unique the flavours were with the addition of the pickles and plum

Diablo - classic and fresh spicy tuna roll

Kaide - lots of seafood on the inside, wished there was a bit more cream cheese because I almost forgot it was supposed to have any

Big bang - another fav of the night! The addition of the lemon and crunchy bits made it a full flavour experience

Maple - I'm used to BC rolls but never had a BBQ tuna roll before! Definitely a good twist of a classic

If you're looking for a place with tempura and teriyaki, this is not the place for you. Expect fresh seafood,...

Honestly don't know why this place is as highly rated as it is. I ordered 4 "premium" rolls and the bill ended up to be around $36 with tip. The sushi I ordered, not too sure why was only mediocre. The scallop roll and the one with the smoked salmon were the best. The Kaide BC and the Big Bang roll (tuna), were really not that great. I still don't know why people cook their salmon in the BC roll, this honestly takes away from the whole experience of a BC roll. The Big Bang roll, not too sure why had a sour element to it. The rice over all was a bit on the undercooked side, as you could tell there was a bite to the rice. Overall, I don't think I'll be back to the restaurant, it was both a bit pricey and...
