I completed all the rooms of Locked and Time Escape Richmond, visited E-Exit West Broadway and E-Exit Richmond for a few times, but this is THE BEST escape room in Vancouver for multiple reasons: 1. They have 4 rooms with completely different themes: Pirates on the rocks Doomed to win in Vegas Party at the studio The Matrix Regarding the level of difficulty, they are built on each other, so it's better to start with the first one if we plan multiple visits. The designs of the rooms is great, and the riddles require a bit of an abstract way of thinking in most cases but they are not unsolvable. I loved that either 2-3 or 4 people can work together without feeling that's too easy or the opposite that it's too difficult because the riddles are not designed to be solved by only large groups. (Like E-Exit West Broadway - don't go there with 2-3 people!! ) What I truly value here is the TYPE of riddles: they don't have an immense number of locks (like 5-6-7 in one room in Locked escape room), they use variety and different kinds of riddles and puzzles. The other thing is the sense of LOGIC. You are required to think, but many times common sense helps if you get off track. 2. Pricing is very reasonable and they have groupon deals, too. If you complete 3 escape rooms you can get a discount from The Matrix, so they do pay attention to customer loyalty. 3. Hint system. As opposed to having a staff member coming into the room in case of a hint, they use walkie-talkies. It's a much better way to stay in the mood of the play and the hints that they provide are not so obvious. It requires you to think. Loved it. 4. Easy to book a room apart from their online system, there is drop in, and they are not very busy during the weekdays. The location is great, too.

We came here for our daughter's ninth birthday party - she had her heart set on an Escape room party. Before committing, I took just her to another Escape room company and we had a good enough time, but I had concerns.

For the party we had four kids (8 or 9 year old boys and girls), my husband and myself and we were in the Pirates room.

The whole experience was fantastic. The staff was super friendly and great (not condescending and sharing their excitement) with the kids. The room was well lit and non-linear so there were always things to do for the kids, not just one task. The theme was exciting, made sense, and wasn't creepy or scary for the kids. Only one or two puzzles were completely out of reach (sometimes literally - the kids were too short) for the kids and we just did those in a way to include them but where we really figured them out.

We were given four hints but what I loved (because we were with the kids) was that if we were missing something obvious or going WAY off track, a gentle voice would come through the walky talky with a simple direction. That way we stayed focused and made good progress. One thing to note is that without an adult it would have been impossible for the kids; with one it would have been fine and with two it was easy-peasy to wrangle.

Afterward again the excellent staff were enthusiastic and attentive. We did cupcakes in the lobby and there was plenty of space and it was perfect.

Thank you so much i-Exit. That was...

We did the Las Vegas casino themed room in a group of 4, listed as a 40% success rate.

Our group had done a few escape rooms before.

There were three rooms to get through. Each room had 2-3 problems to solve. There was not much stuff to look through in each of the rooms, so after a few minutes of everyone searching for clues, the problems only took 1 or 2 people to solve. That left some of us standing around doing nothing.

We got through the room relatively easily in 40 minutes. There also wasn't much variation in some of the challenges, as multiple used combination style locks/codes.

I took a star off because we didn't find the room that interesting/challenging. In my opinion, there should have been more things/dead clues to keep us busy and lead the group astray.

Unlike other reviews, we had a bad experience with the staff, so look a star off. They were unfriendly and lacked any enthusiasm. I'm sure this was just a one off.

We'd be open to going back to try a more difficult room. If you are to do the Vegas room, I'd recommend going as a couple.

One final comment that lost another star, like another review mentioned, one of the clues was hidden in an electrical outlet. We were given instructions not to look in common places like Aircon vents/heaters/lights, which is common across escape rooms. This was both confusing and...
