BEWARE of seagulls if you are enjoying your delicious donuts outside!! Ours got snatched when we held up the donut in the air to take a picture within 5 seconds! So watch out!!

Lee's Donuts staff was so sweet! He actually knew about those flying thieves and gave us a replacement. Sound like seagulls taking food at Granville Island is very common but never happened to me before! I guess I never really ate outside ‍

Lee's Donuts always has a lineup, even pre-COVID, so try to come at less busy times. But if you hit busy hours, the line goes very fast anyway. How long can it take to order?? Just take one each!

The donuts are very fresh, you can taste it, there's a lovely aroma from yeast and flour! The dough itself is very light, airy and has a good bounce.

I love their filled donuts!! Sometimes they have some exotic fillings. This time, we made it to the Bavarian chocolate filling, absolutely delicious!! The chocolate filling is chocolatey enough not to over power the donut, and the sprinkles of sugar on top just mix well with the donut! The strawberry icing was very yummmmm, just like strawberry shortcake, creamy and fruity altogether!

Lee's donuts always have a couple signature ones and some seasonal fun one like the Cookie Monster on display today. I really love the creative playfulness they have here. Totally will...

If you’re visiting Granville Island and don’t stop at Lee’s Donuts, you’re truly missing out on a legendary local experience.

From the moment you walk into the Public Market and catch a whiff of that warm, sugary goodness, you’ll find yourself drawn straight to the iconic yellow and brown sign. Lee’s Donuts has been serving Vancouverites and tourists since 1979, and for good reason — the donuts here are nothing short of magic.

I ordered a dozen donuts for my family and was instantly impressed by the freshness. Each donut was soft, airy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. You can genuinely taste the difference compared to mass-produced donuts. Even after hours, the texture held up, and that’s rare. A special shoutout to the two hardworking Indian employees (a male and female) working the morning shift when I visited — their service was fast, kind, and welcoming.

The customer experience here feels nostalgic yet professional. The line may be long, especially during peak times, but it moves quickly and is absolutely worth the wait.

Lee’s isn’t just a donut shop — it’s part of Vancouver’s food culture. If you’re in town, don’t leave without treating yourself. Highly...

Word of mouth & Seth Rogen's shilling that this is the go to place for doughnuts in YVR located on Grandville island. Luckily no lines on a Thursday afternoon.

Variety of jelly donuts and apple fritters the size of a babies head.

I'm in donut heavan and never want to leave, sugary coating, thin light fried outer skin with moist dough and great tasting filings, fillings are very generous and natural tasting

The chocolate covered donut was cakey.

I am now wrecked for Dunkin donuts, how can i ever go back

Update review on April 6 2023.

What a change since my last visit. Absolutely no filled donuts available, how could that be possible!!

No smiles from young female service staff, just a take it or leave it attitude. Maybe it was the time of the day as I went on a Thursday at approx 1245, all bakers must have been out to lunch.

Did notice a tray of raspberry filled donuts were available when I walked past their counter around 1330, too late, they lost my business.

Complacency will be their...

We got a dozen assorted donuts to try since we have heard so much about them. Staff were friendly and efficient. The dough of these donuts are excellent - they do not feel greasy and are quite light and delightful, great to sit down and enjoy while being surrounded by the water and music at Granville island. Where it was disappointing was the flavor - both the matcha and matcha cream cheese (I believe these are seasonal flavors) did not have any matcha flavor unless you were really searching for it and were being told it was matcha. This was the same story for other flavors such as mint chocolate and strawberry. It was eating a sugar covered donut that happened to have a green or red/pink spread on top. The best ones are the maple, Bavarian cream, and blueberry. These flavors you could tell what you were eating without being told. They are good donuts, but I wouldn't be rushing back to line up for 20 minutes for them any time soon.
