LOT185 Café + Wine Bar — Restaurant in Vancouver

So glad I recently discovered LOT185 despite having walked past many times in the past few years.

Don't be put off that this looks to be a cafe counter in a conference centre and that it's operated by the world's largest catering company. It is a PROPER cafe and restaurant that deserves your business.

It's way too quiet as a result of the pandemic's impact on tourism and conferences but the service, food, coffee and prices are all first class. At the cafe counter the Guatamalan coffee is fantastic and the delicious pastries are all made on site. Up the adjacent stairs the meals section caters for the light dining and lunch crowd. Again everything is made on site and is first rate. I thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib burger and appreciated that it was accompanied by a nice and healthy slaw, rather than the fries/chips and ketchup that usually (unimaginatively)...

We went there to try their Dine Out menu. The staff were very professional. However, the food was very ordinary. The Lobster Bisque was too salty and the texture was not rich or smooth enough. Secondly, the seared duck breast was perfectly done but it could be more tasty with more seasoning. Lastly, the Tart au citron is very disappointing. The crust was very hard, the meringue was too little to balance the sourness of the filling. As this is a new place, we hope there are some improvements so that we can...

We visited Vancouver for a tradeshow, and this little coffee shop was right when you walked into the convention center. The staff was very helpful, and they served a great Cappaccino. I always look for fresh produce on the go, so I grabbed a banana and a butter croissant for the morning. Two of my colleagues had green tea. We visited this spot for 3 days while we were here.
