We stopped by My Island Café on Granville Island for a coffee break, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. The café has a warm and welcoming vibe right from the moment you step inside – it’s cozy, friendly, and feels like the kind of place where you can take a pause from the busy market atmosphere outside. The staff really stood out for their kindness and professionalism. They were attentive, genuinely cheerful, and prepared our drinks with care and attention to detail.
The coffee itself was excellent – smooth, rich, and full of flavor. You can immediately tell they take pride in the quality of their beans and preparation. The latte art was a nice touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. Alongside the taste, the presentation and consistency of the drinks made us feel like we were in good hands. It was exactly the kind of satisfying coffee you look forward to when you take a break during a day out.
The overall environment of the café was another highlight. The interior has a bright, open feel, and even though the café is small, it never felt cramped. Instead, it had that intimate charm where you can enjoy your coffee quietly, or sit with friends and chat comfortably. Being located in Granville Island also makes it a perfect spot to rest, recharge, and watch the lively flow of people coming and going.
One thing that deserves special mention is the pricing. In a popular location like Granville Island, you might expect inflated prices, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that everything was very reasonable. It felt like excellent value for the quality of the coffee and the friendliness of the service.
Overall, My Island Café exceeded our expectations. Between the delicious coffee, the warm and genuine service, the cozy atmosphere, and the fair pricing, it checked all the boxes for a great café experience. Whether you’re a coffee lover looking for a quality cup, or just someone visiting Granville Island who needs a comfortable and welcoming spot to relax, this is absolutely a place worth stopping at. We’ll definitely be coming back on...
Read moreA staple in the Granville Island community. I work on the island and frequent here near daily, as do many of the local artisans and staff.
If you’re here to tour and sightsee, you’ll find the cafe perched along a beautiful pond-side view. Indoor and outdoor seats are convenient and comfy. On especially sunny days, the cheerfulness of the cafe and the neighbouring Children’s Market is enlivening, and that’s even before you get your caffeine!
The cafe sells drinks and food, and welcome family treats like ice-cream and cotton candy. Food variety is wide and quality is plenty satisfying (pastries and sandwiches are freshly prepared). Drinks are smooth and full of flavour, with the caffeine kick you need to wander the winding island pathways. Price is fair to the times; always good value for the money! Most importantly, pairing a drink with food doesn’t feel like sacrificing some down payment.
Staff are friendly and cheerful, and obviously close with each other. It adds to the community spirit, if anything. I love chatting with them, as do many other Island regulars. It can get quite busy during weekends, but a close team means an effective team during rushes, which is what truly matters (speaking as an ex-barista).
In short: I love this place!; Go give it a visit. Viva...
Read moreWe were on Granville Island to explore and came across this on our way to the Kid's Market. Being parents of a toddler an afternoon pick-me-up was in order so we stopped in. They have a good selection of snack and drinks, plus a pretty cool cotton candy machine in the back. I ordered a simple double espresso and a maple latte for my wife. They had both drinks out pretty quick and the latte looked great! I had my espresso and it was smooth and not very bitter which was nice. The maple latte though, wow! It was so good I wish I'd ordered 2 instead of just one. The staff was friendly and fun, they were joking with the family before us. A great little coffee shop outside of the main market area right next to a tranquil pond and the...
