The Granville Island Toy Company — Local services in Vancouver

My son has a ancient pals dino runner toy we bought just over two years ago and he brings it everywhere with him. It broke and has been glued several times and the toy has seen better days. I searched everywhere for another dinosaur that is the exact same and could not find one. Then when visiting Vancouver we went to the Granville Island Toy Company and to our shock we found "Dino" that same dinosaur toy my son loved so much. A few days later we started our drive back home to Manitoba. 3/4 the way home we realized dino is no longer with us. My son brings this toy everywhere. We called all the stops we had made along the way to look for dino and no one could find him. Then I called the Granville Island Toy Company to see if they happen to have another dinosaur there. When we were at the store they only had one green dinosaur and the rest were orange so our hopes were not to high. The employee who answered my call found the toy I was speaking of and went out of his way to find a way for me to get this toy. He suggested purchasing the toy off of the website but this toy was not availble to purchase. He contacted the right people and called me back to inform me they are adding this dinosaur toy to the website so I could purchase it. My son is extremely upset that dino is gone and will be beside himself when "Dino" finds his way back home. I feel so very blessed that these employees went above and beyond for us. I have been coming to this store since I was a kid and I’ve always loved it. Today, Me and my girlfriend visited the store, the lady working at the register was absolutely wonderful! We purchased several playmobile mystery packs for fun, and ended up returning 3 times within the hour for more because were determined to get all the characters, we interacted with the lady at the register every time because she was such a delight to talk to! All sales final. Which is a horrible policy in today’s world. We bought a Playmobil toy for our son’s birthday. We opened it up the same day and it was missing pieces. The store refused to return or exchange and told us that we needed to order the pieces. Super disappointing.
