This place is hidden within the city square shopping centre food court. I was looking for vegan options and got their purple skin dumplings. The shop is quite automated where you order from a machine and then someone brings your food out. I originally wasn’t sure if 6 dumplings were worth $10 and still think it’s a bit pricey, but they are quite hearty and a good amount of filling packed within them. You dip them into black vinegar and it balances out the saltiness. The style of dumpling is thicker skinned, making it more chewy but that’s just a note based on your preferences.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back, but if I’m in the area, I’d definitely try their other non-vegan dumplings and dishes. One thing I do like about this place is that they have a handful of vegan options and they do them well. So if you’re vegan, definitely come check...

Tried Nine Dumplings on a whim while shopping at the City Square mall and was so delighted by the quality food, the excellent service, and the fantastic array of options! We got the vegan dumplings with hot and sour soup, as well as the ma po tofu with rice. The dumplings have fantastic texture, flavour, and filling, and the soup is perfectly umami and tangy. The ma po tofu has just the right amount of spice and a wonderful bouquet of flavours! I'd highly recommend pairing it with an iced winter melon tea. The servings are ample and reasonably priced too!

Although this place is tucked out of the way, it's a hidden gem that I'd recommend to any of my friends. It even has great views, as it sits next to beautiful windows peering out into the historic park behind the mall, with big beautiful oak trees. Give it a go, and support a fantastic small...

The food was excellent, but there was a bit of confusion when ordering. I had to self-order, and I thought I just had to wait. I waited several minutes and there was no indication that my order was being processed. I rang the gong, and a staff member appeared out of nowhere. He started to prepare my order, but he has no visibility on the counter when he's in the kitchen.

I had the vegan Dan Dan noodles, and he offered me a free Dixie cup of a sweet beverage. It was nice, but the noodles were the star of the show, especially with the greens and peanuts. I took a moment to read his dumpling menu, and was certainly intrigued.

I ate in a noisy food court that had a lot of spilled food around the trash station, so 3/5 is the...

As you know I'm a dedicated carnivore, but my buddy bet me he could feed me vegan food I would enjoy. So we went to this obscure corner of the food court and tried this place. We had the vegan sesame noodles that were on special for $7.99, vegan sour soup with seaweed and a vegan dumpling. Buddy won the bet. The thin noodles were al dente chewy and exploding with flavors. The vegan dumpling had a proper thickness and well minced filling. I added mala tongue numbing pepper sauce and it was a surreal experience. We finished with a vegan mango sorbet that had such a real fruit taste you might as well be eating frozen mango. I profusely thanked my friend for bringing me here and paid for lunch as part of our bet.

I've been following Chef If since his shop at Robson Public Market. This is a much better location. As usual he has awesome surprises. He serves affordable coffee and AMAZING gelato. He has vegan and sugar free flavors. The mango is bursting with fresh fruit flavor. As usual he has some of the tastiest vegan Chinese dishes that even a carnivore would love. The dumpling sampler is a must have I would greedily eat alone but now I need to leave space for Gelato and coffee. Who would think you would go to a Chinese restaurant for really good Gelato?
