This is my second time visiting i-Cafe Express. I enjoyed the food during my first visit so I went back again yesterday. I ordered 炒貴刁 Stir-Fried Flat Rice Noodles (Kway Teow) and 星洲炒米 Singapore Style Pan Fried Vermicelli for take out. I was excited to eat these for my dinner but when opening the boxes, both dishes looked almost identical except the noodles. One was flat noodles and one was vermicelli. The Char Kway Teow looked nothing like the typical char kway teow I had from other restaurants. The colour, taste and ingredients were exactly like the Singapore Style Pan Fried Vermicelli. I was so disappointed. I wished the staff would tell me, they are pretty much the same. I phoned today and asked for a clarification, just to make sure I didn't get the wrong order/ they mixed up the order. When first prompted, the staff said their char kway teow shouldn't be the same colour as the Sinapore vermicelli. However, when double checking with the chef in the kitchen, they both said it looks and taste like the Singapore Vermicelli. Hence, there's nothing I can do about it except let them know how I disappointed I felt. When looking at the description on their menu on their own website. They clearly needed to change this or else other customers will be disappointed too. This is what it said on the description for the Char Kway Teow. "A classic stir-fried noodle dish made with flat rice noodles, soy sauce, bean sprouts, and scallions. Light yet flavorful, it’s wok-fried over high heat for that irresistible charred aroma." NOTE: They said Soy Sauce. Overall, I will still visit again but just not order that dish.

So just want to make it clear that this place used to be a full restaurant location down the road from City Square previously (I believe now it is different unassociated restaurant called Song Cafe) but it seems like they moved to this new location in the City Square food court now. It’s advertised as an express stall now. Anyways I AM SO HAPPY that this place exists now. I work around in and around the hospital and I love how there is an online order pick up system so I can order ahead of time and quickly grab it and enjoy my full lunch break. I love HK cafe food! Me and my coworker ordered some baked pork chop spaghetti dishes for lunch today and we were pleasantly impressed. The portions were great and the sauce was done really well, not too overpowering with ketchup sauce and not too sweet. The pork chops were very moist and tasty. The price was very reasonable too The service is also very attentive for a food court stall. I was waiting for my online food order and it wasn’t ready yet so I sat down on one of the tables and the employee came out from the front, found me and presented me with my food in person versus yelling out my number to get my food. That extra gesture was quite thoughtful as I did not expect them to do that. They just opened recently and they already have so much business. I will definitely continue to order from here and tell all my coworkers :) P.S. I think they also do free parking validation? I overheard them talking about it. Great if you’re picking up

My friend recommended iCafe’s curry beef tongue but since I don’t crave curry and their lunch combo is more affordable, I just picked a lunch special item: honey pork chop w. rice. A warm sweet bun and the soup (I picked “red” - HK cafe style tomato Borscht soup) came within seconds. Juice was ready before I even touched the soup. I swapped the drink for a squeezed juice (smoothie). I picked apple carrot ginger for $5 when she told me they do not add ice to the juice so I know it’s actually a smoothie. It was so good. I finished the smoothie before the rice arrived. The pork chop has 50% fat and some bone attached. Not a tender boneless tonkatsu type but acceptable. Total came to $23 before tax and tips. They provided me a quiet single person table besides the windows and I appreciated the peacefulness of my seat. Service is fast and professional. Will come back for curry some time maybe.

I went to I-cafĂŠ this afternoon the second time. I wanted to ask one of the counter servers (2 men and a lady, I talked to a man) if the breakfast special time had passed, because it was around 1:00 pm. He said he didn't know what I was talking about, the neon light menu kept on changing, I couldn't point it out to him, so I said the price is $12.50, I like to choose the porkchop in the meal. All the sudden the other 2 employees joined in and said, there are so many pork chops in the menu, which one do you want? One of them threw me the menu and pointed out to me and said this one had the porkchop. I said to myself, I just wanted to ask him a simple question if the meal $12.50 was still available or not, three of them made me feel very embarrassed and I was the only customer at that moment. They were not busy at all. Three of them had nothing to do. So I walked away.

I think the owner should know his/her employees pushing their customers away. There are so many choices I can have at City Square, I-cafĂŠ is not the only one. Three employees embarrassed a customer together. Really!! All they could do was look up the menu and see the cut off time for the breakfast had passed or not, actually they should know, but not leaving it to the customer to tell them and made it difficult to the customer. At least they should try to help the customer. This is the basic. I am not sure if I am right, may be they don't like their job. I don't think I will...
