My friend and I have visited this coffee shop a few times now, as there's not many others in my neighbourhood. Each time we have been incredibly disappointed by our experience. The first couple times our drinks were not correctly made... from filling a double long iced espresso fully with dairy product, when asking for a splash of dairy free, to burnt chai lattes with too much spice. Yesterday we decided to give it one more try, and went for drip coffees instead. Sadly they only offer one kind of drip coffee in which has chocolate and strawberry hints amongst other things, which I wasn't informed of as I ordered a medium roast. When I then put their almond milk into my over filled coffee, the entire drink curdled and was at that point undrinkable. I didn't bother asking for a new one as the coffee (even without rotten almond milk) was gross. Maybe this is a personal preference, but I really think a drip coffee other than one that tastes like a sour dessert should be offered. As well as it should be ensured you're not putting out a spoiled product. I generally dont leave negative reviews but I think this coffee shop could heavily use some new management. The staff I have been served by are uninformative, improperly trained, nervous, and rushed with long wait times. This falls on the owner/management, not the staff. It is quite a nice space, and I wish it could reach its potential or lived up...

I have ordered lattes from Cafe Palette (Knight Street location) several times, and every single time the coffee has been cold, as if it’s been sitting out for a while. This time I specifically told them, “Please make sure my latte is hot, it’s always cold here.” Yet again, I received a cold coffee.

When I politely pointed it out and asked for a replacement, the man behind the counter reacted in an extremely rude and angry manner. Shockingly, he took the same cup I had already drunk from and shoved it under the steam wand of the machine to “reheat” it! That is completely unhygienic and unacceptable — it poses a real health risk.

Instead of apologizing and replacing the drink like any professional café (e.g. Starbucks would), he argued with me and dismissed my concern.

This place not only has serious hygiene issues, but also zero respect or basic manners toward customers.

I strongly expect the management to reach out to me directly and apologize for this unacceptable experience. If they truly care about their customers and their reputation, they should take...

I decided to buy a glass carafe from Pallet as I like to try to support small businesses. There was clearly a quality defect with the product as a couple months after purchasing I took the lid off and the edge cracked. I went to talk to them in store and in store staff told me it was a common problem and I should contact head office for a refund. Head office has so far refused to refund it or provide store credit and says that in store staff should never have said that. It is clearly a quality defect as one should be able to take the lid on and off (seriously that’s its whole purpose…) without it cracking the container a couple months after purchasing - see photo attached. There goes $40 for nothing. Super disappointing because I really like Pallets coffee, food and in store staff. I really wanted to support them but I would highly recommend against and warn anyone not to buy products here. Poor quality and poor customer service related to in...

Delicious coffee, but I gotta give 3 stars for the following reasons: service and menu. Service was poor, looked like the girls were either short on staff or just unhappy to be there. I bought a cookie that I never got, only realized after I got home that I paid for something that was never given to me. Menu is extremely lame, there’s very few options of things to eat and one of the items I ordered I couldn’t get because they were out of croissants. We wanted a decent breakfast and that’s definitely not what you’re gonna find here. I do understand that a lot of places are struggling to maintain quality business during pandemic, but please make it very clear that your menu is smaller or your service has changed whatever updates you guys have, social media is great for that. Sanitizing is great but it’s not enough to keep customers coming back. Don’t recommend it, it’s getting harder everyday to get a decent brunch experience in East Van.

I used to buy my espresso beans from Pallet, about 1.5 lbs per month because the beans are good and the locations is convenient. The beans are packaged in a non-recycleable plastic foil bag with a zip lock enclosure. To avoid putting them in the landfill I have been taking them to back to Pallet to refill. I buy two bags worth at a time to avoid inconveniencing the staff. The past couple times they were extremely reluctant to do so and this morning I learned the manager has banned refilling beans at all pallet locations. I find this attitude reprehensible in 2020 will not be returning. Fortunately, I called the JJ Bean down the street and they will refill any bag or container. They even give you 50c off per bag if you bring your own. Be warned however, they will offer you a free coffee as well so bring a mug!
