Today I had a really happy time with my friends in this restaurant. This was the last meal with her, who was about to return home. We found about 15 restaurants, and the final choice was this one. Inside it was really neat and quiet. The owner was very kind, and we had a good time, it took a while for the food to come out, but it didn't matter at all. We ordered butter chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, biriyani, and garlic nan and butter nan, mango Lassi. After the food was served, we repeated that it was delicious from the first to the last bite. All the friends I went with said it was really delicious, and I clapped as soon as I took a bite. It was much more delicious than the Indian food I ate in Korea. The restaurant owner came to see if we were eating well or if we needed anything else. In this part, as much as the owner really loves the restaurant and loves the restaurant, I felt that the customers were really sincere about it. This wasn't just a meal. The customer service I received at the store was fantastic. I ordered Margo lassi and the owner gave my friends some more lassi to try, saying he made a little more of it. We were really impressed with this part. There was no restaurant in Vancouver that offered this much. Thanks to you, my friends could taste how delicious Margo Lassi is. At the end of the meal, the owner asked us if we had eaten India's Dessert, we said no. After Lassi, owner gave us dessert in a pretty bowl to try it, so I didn't know what to do. I had a really happy time.(I can't remember the name of the dessert very well. It started letter with ‘D’) I was really happy to have a delicious dinner with a friend who was about to return to his country. We are likely to bring up this story in the future, and me and the other friend, who are planning to stay in Vancouver longer, promised to come next time and the owner told me to try another dish next time. It was an unforgettable and...
Read moreLovely owner and the best Indian food my family has ever had. My brother rarely comments on food but upon eating the butter chicken and garlic naan he was like "wow this is amazing". Even my dad who isn't a fan of indian food loved it. Lots of chicken in the butter chicken and my family loved the sauce so much they just drank the remainder like soup. They have lots of vegan options that I will be back to try. Some are the standard aloo gobi and eggplant bharta, but they have some really unique options that I've never seen anywhere else. Note that the naan is not vegan but the roti is. I got the tofu corn methi-malai and the gobi dil-bahar because they sounded interesting. The flavours totally blew my mind. The gobi one was my favourite of the two, although I would give both a 10/10. The gobi one comes with cauliflower, spinach, jackfruit and potato. The vegetables were tender and the jackfruit was not bad (I usually hate jackfruit things). The sauce was thick and had a rich peanut flavour. My only comment would be to increase the amount of spinach and cauliflower. There was a good amount of corn and tofu in the other curry, and the curry had a very unique flavour that I've never tasted before. It's also quite rich like the gobi curry. I don't have the biggest appetite, but I smashed both curries by myself in one sitting. Haven't had such a great restaurant experience in a while. Highly recommend checking this place out. I've seen other reviews that commented on a long wait time but there wasn't many people when we were dining in at 5:30pm (they open at 5). Food came in around 15-20 minutes and was piping hot since they make your food to order. I'm not sure if I can go to any indian restaurant after this because this set my standards...
Read moreRick and Sonia embody the true meaning of family love and humble kindness. We are not from Canada, but when we got to visit again since the border has become more relaxed, we knew this establishment was a must.
We ordered a few things we weren't familiar with and let me tell you - WHOA. Everything was made with delicate care and craft. You can tell there's specificity and we were happy for that!
The fish Pakora was an amazing surprise, delicate, flaky and the batter was just right - crispy with the focus on the fish and seasonings. Other Indian places we've tried, the fish is not at all right, so I was hesitant when my husband ordered it. I'm now regretting not ordering another fish dish. Our daughter ordered butter chicken and I ordered Bangara Chicken. I thought her butter chicken was my order, and then sweet Sonia pointed out that it was actually butter chicken. This place makes the best butter chicken known to man! Don't even get me started on the magic that was the Bangara chicken. Hubby ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh. I'm not a lamb eater, but I would have licked his plate with zero shame if that tells you anything. Don't forget to ask for the tamarind sauce. I don't know what's in it, but I'm positive it's Rick's magic.
Rick visited us at our table and gave us his history of how he got to where he is today. 43 years of passion and care have gone into this amazing place that we cannot wait to return.
Thank you Rick and Sonia. The world definitely needs more souls such as yours and we were thankful to have met you. Until...
