I was worried that the food wouldn’t be worth the wait after waiting for an hour for a table, but I was pleasantly wrong. This vegetarian haven offers a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual yet elevated dining experience. -Lemongrass Tofu The Lemongrass Tofu was an absolute standout. Each bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced with a hint of lemongrass and a delightful crispy texture. This dish is a must-try for anyone visiting Do Chay. -Wings Next, we indulged in the Wings, which were nothing short of spectacular. These plant-based wings had a satisfying crunch and were smothered in a tangy, spicy sauce that left us craving more. They rival any traditional wing dish out there. -Eggplant The Eggplant dish was another highlight. Succulent and tender, the eggplant was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. It was a delightful addition to our meal, offering a rich and savory depth of flavor. -Activated Charcoal Lemonade To complement our meal, we sipped on the Activated Charcoal Lemonade. This refreshing drink was not only visually striking but also provided a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. It was an excellent palate cleanser and an intriguing twist on a classic beverage. -Exceptional Service A special shout-out to Cassie, who made our dining experience truly memorable. Her personable and friendly demeanor, coupled with her diligent and attentive service, ensured that every guest felt welcomed and well looked after. Cassie's hard work and dedication were evident as she effortlessly navigated the busy restaurant, making sure everyone was taken care of and happy. Her exceptional service added a personal touch to our evening that we won't soon forget. -Conclusion Do Chay offers a delightful combination of delicious vegetarian cuisine and exceptional service. With standout dishes like the Lemongrass Tofu, Wings, and Eggplant, coupled with refreshing drinks like the Activated Charcoal Lemonade, this restaurant is a must-visit for any food lover. And with staff like Cassie ensuring an outstanding dining experience, you’re guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by Do Chay for a dining experience that will leave your taste buds dancing and your heart full.

- uncle hing's wings = $13 - - vegan pho = $15 - - mushroom vermicelli = $15 - 《Chungry Rating = 9/10》 There's just something about Uncle Hing's Wings! 🐥🍄 And no, I'm not talking about how they're actually made with crispy oyster mushrooms; I'm talking about how freaking yummy they are! I can't get enough! 🤪 If you've never heard, these "wings" are one of the many signature dishes from Do Chay on Kingsway! Do Chay Saigon is a Vietnamese restaurant highlighting the best of vegetarian dishes, with a few modern twists. Both of their locations have stunning decor. The overall theme is very rustic and simple, with subtle nods towards their Vietnamese heritage. Now, jumping into the food. While I have heard nothing but good reviews from Do Chay, I had my own hesitations about vegetarian Vietnamese food, especially their pho. Their pho broth tastes like it mainly uses mushrooms as a base. I actually thought it tasted quite interesting and enjoyed it. Their noodles, however, got quite soggy quite quickly, which isn't something I usually see when I order pho. Also, with the amount of avocado included, the creaminess of the avocado actually conflicted with the overall texture profile of the soup noodles, taking away from the usual clarity of a typical pho broth. On the other hand, I absolutely loved the wings and the mushroom vermicelli. 🤤 Uncle Hing's Wings are made with oyster mushrooms, deep-fried to crispy perfection and tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. Even though they were deep-fried, I found them surprisingly light. It would be an amazing snack to have with an ice cold beer or cocktail. Their mushroom vermicelli also has oyster mushrooms in it, in addition to some wood ear fungus. Tossed in some lemongrass chili oil over a bed of vermicelli, and served with a spring roll and a side of fresh herbs and pickled carrots. Absolutely fantastic for a refreshing meal on a warm day, but to be honest, it would taste great in any type of weather. ⛅ I was thoroughly impressed during my visit and I'm excited to go back and try out their menu. Their Saigon Spaghetti and coconut rice cakes look particularly enticing! 👀

I’ve bean living life on the veg Do make a visit to Do Chay! You will not regret it. The vegan and vegetarian food here is some of the best I’ve eaten. You will feel satisfied with none of the heavy feeling. I still remember my first visit @eatdochay here trying out their avocado pho a while ago. They have a new location in Yaletown and lots of new creative dishes to try. Here’s my order •Spring rolls •Coconut rice cakes •Green beans •Desert Island noodles •Spicy Guava margarita •Fresh young coconut The coco rice cakes (banh knot) are a crowd pleaser and it’s a must order! It’s cast iron seared coconut milk rice cakes with mung beans, jicama, onion and “ish” sauce. There are many dimensions of flavours. You have some sweetness from the coconut mixed with the savoury and it cumulates into a heavenly bite with the dipping sauce. I usually order the monsoon rolls but this time I opted for the crispy spring rolls. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either choice. The XO green beans were super addicting! It was perfectly wok tossed with spicy mushroom sauce! The Desert Island noodles were another winner! The noodles were as thick as udon but less chewy as it’s made from rice. The dish had vegan meatballs with a loose texture and taste of nuts. Overall, a good amount of umami and I would order again. The vibe is relaxing and they have a popular patio in the back. The “Ish” sauce is their house made vegan substitute for fish sauce. I’m guessing it made from a complex mixture of many ingredients but fermented mung beans is what gives it the fish like aroma. I’m not a vegan 🌱 but @eatdochay does satisfy this meat lover😜 You feel fulfilled without the guilt. I highly recommend this place and I’m looking forward to trying out their Yaletown location and trying out some new dishes!
