Food: I enjoyed my entrée — the BC Chicken Burger lettuce wrap with mayo and Caesar salad — which was fresh and satisfying. However, the Salted Caramel Brownie Milkshake was a letdown. It lacked flavor and tasted stale, especially compared to the last time I ordered it, when it was rich and delicious. This time, it wasn’t worth the happy hour price.
Service: Unfortunately, my experience on 06/06/2025 with the service was extremely disappointing. I arrived at 8:15pm and was not acknowledged or offered even a glass of water for the first 10 minutes. Despite making eye contact with staff, I was repeatedly overlooked. A young server with a long brunette braid finally approached after I had to ask directly if someone was going to take my order — only to learn she was supposed to be my server all along. She may have been new or inexperienced, but it highlighted a clear gap in training.
The host was also unwelcoming — no greeting, just silence — and sat me at a visibly dirty table covered in salt, which I had to repeatedly ask staff to clean. That should not be something guests need to request.
My food took over 20 minutes to arrive, and my drink was delayed an additional 10 minutes due to a mix-up — apparently, my drink order never got entered by the initial server. Another staff member, Helen, whom I’ve had good experiences with before, stepped in and helped from that point. Even so, by the end of the meal, a third server delivered my burger, and I was left unsure who was actually responsible for my table. The inconsistency was chaotic and unprofessional.
When it came time to pay, the machine wasn’t brought to me — I had to flag someone down again and wait another five minutes just to settle my bill. I still left a $1 tip out of courtesy, knowing the food industry can be tough — but frankly, I regretted it afterward.
Atmosphere: Sitting at a dirty table in a disorganized setting made for a very uncomfortable experience. It felt neglected and poorly managed — far from the quality I expect from White Spot.
Final Thoughts: This visit cost me 45 minutes longer than expected, and I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I’m a regular customer and have never had such a frustrating experience at this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously — particularly regarding staff training and cleanliness — because I won’t be returning unless...
Read moreThis is my first time giving such a poor rating for a food service. Since, I am usually pretty easy going when it comes with food and I understand how hard it is when it is busy for servers. However, I went to Whitespot with my siblings and we had a disappointing service. We each ordered food, and we had two plates brought out and was waiting for one more order. We sat there and waited... 20 minutes went by and didn't see the order come out. During that 20 minutes wait, we kept trying to wave down our server because my little brother has yet to receive his ketchup for the french fries and the coke we ordered when we first arrived (45 minutes ago). Our server was passing by us, despite us waving at her and she kept laughing? We had to wave down another server and he brought it to her attention. She came to the table to look and noticed one person's plate was missing, without saying anything she just laughed and walked to the computer screen and began to punch in the order and turning around each time laughing to confirm the order with us. The order came out 10-15 minutes later. We were already disappointed as our food was cold while waiting for the last order. We then see our server bringing out a "back of house" honey mustard bag and bring it to the table in the corner with a group of friends whom were eating, and they were just joking and laughing. I just thought it was completely unprofessional and I had never experienced that type of service while eating at the Oakridge Centre whitespot, more than 50 times. But this was my first time at Kingsway location and it was the...
Read moreThis was my first time it this White Spot. It is small but cozy with nice atmosphere. We had a nice and friendly server, but she served us food where we had no cutlery, so we asked for it, but then forgot us and had to asked again. She apologized multiple times. I had the Gochujang Lettuce Wraps. Good portion and good taste, but they had been only luke warm, and overdone (to crispy, even wondered if there was any chicken in them or mainly panade...). As I was hungry I didn't say anything and just ate. Plum sauce was good but too little. I asked for more which came in good time and also didn't get charged extra for it. After I was nearly done I saw a.lirtle black bug on my lettuce. No idea what kind of bug it was. I showed it to our server, she apologized and that was it... In other restaurants they offer you to make you a new meal or that you don't have to pay for it.
So this little white spot is cute but sadly sub par quality :(
Update: I came back today. The service was excellent!! I asked for her suggestion and she recommended the Turkey, Bacon & Brie Dip which I never had before (usually I would go with the traditional bees deep). The sandwich was really nice, good and interesting flavour with the light dip. The fries could have been fried a little longer. I also ordered their blueberry milkshake which was, like.in the past, really good! I will be back again.
PS. I updated my last review score and gave them higher ratings on...
