My family has never tried dosa at this restaurant, so we visited here this evening. There were many tables when we got here around 6pm. The space was quite big and comfortable as we could see tables were not packed together. The interior design, decors and lighting including the background music were just about right marching a dosa restaurant. It was interesting that the restaurant provided printed black and white paper menus. That was fine. Everything was clearly printed and we could see all the dish names. It was only three of us but we ordered four dishes to try. Everything was very good. Each table has some bottles of water. It was included in the meals. Very interesting! Usually servers or restaurants would offer water pulling from a jug or jar. We ordered three different dosas - eggplants, beef and eggplants with potatoes, and gun powder lentils. All of them tasted excellent. They were not too spicy. The four dish was a special on Saturday. It was lamb chop with naan bread and rice at $19.99. Overall, we had a great eating experience. Ingredients were fresh and portion was big. We deducted one star because the weather was hot. The restaurant turns on many fans. It would be nicer if there was an air conditioning. Also in terms of parking, we parked on the bush street Kingsway. Looks like we have to find street parking in general.

This was our first time back to Dosa Factory since pre-pandemic times. We used to love coming here on Mondays, (and still do!) as they have a Dosa Monday special where you can have Dosas for just $6.99 each. Dosas come from South India and are thin pancakes made from lentils & rice. They are huge and can come with a wide assortment of fillings to put inside. My personal favourite is the Eggplant Dosa but I decided to try something different this time and go with the Mix Veg Dosa. We ordered a few appetizers as well including the very highly recommended Gobi 65! (Cauliflower marinated with spices) We ordered a plain cheese Dosa for daughter, from the kids menu. They seemed to have forgotten about her order. We had to remind them more than once to go check on her order. It took ages for them to bring her cheese Dosa out, and they never offered any kind of apology for the long wait. We were not impressed; however, I strongly believe in forgiveness and second chances, and as we've been here many times in the past and this is the first time I recall having poor service, I will still give them a "fair" rating for service. Service: Fair Parking: 🚗 Street parking Location: On Kingsway with lots of other businesses in the area.

Atmosphere - Went for lunch on a Saturday at the peak time but it was completely empty. Maybe they get more orders for take out. But it was really dull and un-happening. Nothing much to look forward on that front really. Food - Gunpowder idli - It was good. Nothing out of the world. Just how it’s supposed to be. Glad they did it right. Mysore masala dosa - It was really good. The dosa size is also quite big. The masala (asked for masala on the side) was tasty as well. Although the sambhar and the chutneys they serve are only enough for maybe 5-6 big dips with the dosa (they give 1 free refill but chutneys are still not enough). Khara butter masala dosa - The menu says that it is very spicy but my Indian palette did not find it spicy. Infact, I could taste a lot of ketchup in the dosa, which left a really bad taste in the mouth. Don’t get me wrong, it is spicy (not very spicy) but the insane amount of ketchup balances the spiciness. I think they should not label this as a “very spicy” dosa. Service - One thing South Indian restaurants are popular for is the quick service they offer. However, this place was a massive disappointment. There was no staff in the dining area. After waiting for a while for the staff to come out from the kitchen, I had asked for a refill of the sambhar and chutney, but did not get it. The next time I had to order something, I could not find the servers again and I had to walk down to the kitchen and place the order. And this happened once more after that. So if you’re looking for good service, then please look elsewhere. Hit or miss place - Based on this lone experience, I think you would not lose out on much if you give this place a miss.

The food I got was amazing, it was a good temperature I got to dig in right away and stayed an optimal temperature throughout my meal. I had the lamb curry idk which one, was very rich and spicy, the naan was really nice and buttery, the rice was decent but I felt the naan was better, the naan wasn't burnt at all but was crispy and soft, the rice wasn't too dry and went with the curry well, the yogurt in it to tone it down went perfectly no matter how much I added it didn't diminish any flavor, it only took the heat, I felt I was able to enjoy it at multiple different levels of spice because of such. I also had dessert, its really good the raisin and cashew were perfectly cooked to compliment the... I assume a rice based dessert. I forgot to blow on it and burnt myself but the flavors are really nice, portions are good too because I'm very full as I type this. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. That being said service I felt was a little slow but I did show up at 1:30am and was indecisive with my order. Edit: whilst I felt the service was slow that seems to be from busyness, my waiter was actually very kind and was pleasant to be around.

Came here on a Monday there was a special on the dosa $6.99 plus free desert. So upon arrival I waited 5 minutes to have some one even come and acknowledge me as it said please wait to be seated. Then I was told pick any table and since I had not been here was not made aware of how they operate. You need to get your menu and cutlery and water from a table…which is not a big deal but would have been nice when I was told to get a table to be asked if I have been there before or instructed what to do. After waiting for over 7 minutes I hailed down a server who told me the process. So once I had them menu I waited another 8-9 minutes before I asked the waitress if someone could take my order…not to mention the table smelt off putting. The food did come out super quick once ordered. The food had no taste no salt nothing. The Masala and onion masala dosa were bland as can be…and I like bland food so bland like baby bland. The dosa crust was over cooked and super flaky…not the nice crispy type. The desert was awful. The only good thing I can say was it was cheap…won’t go back…

Dosa Factory is more than just dosas If you are looking for a place to enjoy authentic South Indian cuisine, especially dosas, you won't be disappointed by Dosa Factory. They have more than 100 varieties of dosas, from plain to stuffed, from vegetarian to non-vegetarian, from spicy to mild. The dosas are crispy, thin, and flavorful, and come with homemade chutneys and sambhar. But what really sets Dosa Factory apart is their Indo-Chinese food. This is a fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors, and it is delicious. You can try dishes like gobi manchurian, chilli paneer, chicken 65, and prawn vindaloo. The Indo-Chinese food is spicy, tangy, and mouth-watering, and it goes well with the dosas or rice. The service is friendly and fast, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and has plenty of parking in the back. I highly recommend Dosa Factory for anyone who loves dosas and Indo-Chinese food, or wants to try something new and exciting. On another occasion - The food was too salty, it might be one time thing.
