This joint is pretty dope! A great veggie grub selection with wholesome and delicious ingredients with a strong vibe of a family-ran eatery and vietnamese home-style cooking I got the Phở Chay 越南河粉汤 which was extremely yummy, great broth with fantastic aromas and flavor. The Tofu slices seemed a bit stingy to be completely honest and a large helping of bean sprouts among anything else. The Gỏi Cuốn Chay tasted pretty awesome, stuffed full of goodies with a nice balanced satay dipping sauce, although it was pretty difficult to eat as it wasn't constructed too well, too sticky and ended up splitting open everywhere. The joint itself is nice, a modern and well upkeep eatery area with plenty of minimalistic style seating. The staff here are super friendly, approachable and talented at serving up good efficient grub! They were also kind enough to throw me a huge heap of fresh chillis to make it nice and spicy, yum! A great location in the heart of fantastic Davie Street in downtown. It'd be awesome if they did have some kind of mid-week lunch specials going which is the case at most other places. I hate to feel so negative but have to dub this a 3 based on the above. Support local businesses

They know you are hungry! We arrived, we’re seated right away at the bar by the window and served water. And then our orders were ready to be taken and we got served within 10 minutes. Fresh beansprouts, Thai basil and lemon wedges are brought out, no fresh jalapeños. You can order Pho to go. If there happens to be a wait for the tables inside, the super friendly staff will take your order if you want them to. Then when you’re seated you can get your meal quicker. Get all the Vietnamese classics here - Pho, Bahn Mi sandwiches, char broiled pork over vermicelli. Tons of vegetarian items, decent amount of vegan items. They mention which items use fish sauce if it seems vegetarian. I got the vegan pho that came with a bunch of large vegetables chunks like cauliflower, tofu, broccoli, and carrots. Topped with fresh white shredded onion and cilantro. The broth was clear and so delicious!! Matt got the regular beef pho, number 22. The broth was nice and clear, not to salty. Matt said it needed more flavors and that the soup tasted better with sriracha. To me, it tasted perfect. People have different preferences.

- one of the most pronounced, better Bun Bo Hue herb tastes out there. Although the broth was a little too heavy, like msg heavy, I really enjoyed the broth. Bun Bo Hue was $15.75. - while the Bun Bo Hue broth was a little too strong, the $16 "Pho Dac Biet" broth was a little too mild. The ingredients were ok. Apart from the mildness, no other complaints from family, which is good. - my Bun Bo Hue didn't have pig knuckles or blood curds, but it did had meatballs and beef briskets. The amount wasn't much but fair for a $15.75 price tag. I am content. - the $9.95 "Ga Chien" or deep fried chicken wings were ok. Small but ok. Deep fried yet moist. It consisted of 3 whole wings, including chicken tips - 6 parts in total. .

This is my very first time writing a review as I haven't felt the need to write one until right now but I felt very disrespected today when I sat down at Pho Goodness on Davie and Bute. I was so excited after work to enjoy a hot bowl of noodle soup as it was so rainy and I was starving. First off, I was served tea and water(which I had to request on my own), which rarely ever happens unless it is absolutely packed inside the restaurant. After ordering and finishing about half of my soup, I asked for a to-go bowl so I could have the rest for later. My waitress(early to mid forties) with the to go bowl which was completely fine as I always prefer to pack up my own food. As I was pouring the hot leftover Pho into the to-go bowl, it spilt all over the table and all over my lap. Keep in mind that it was BOILING HOT WATER IN MY LAP. As I looked up, I saw my waitress staring at me as if she is infuriated with me for making a mess. After about 30 seconds of her just staring at me, she still hadn''t made any initiative to help me clean remains of the boiling hot water all over my lap and the table. My waitress left and came back with TWO VERY THIN napkins, only to place them on the table instead of maybe helping me?? It was like she was expecting me to get up and go into the back of the restaurant to find a rag. After all of what happened I was extremely upset(reasonably so) and in pain as I had burnt my lap. At this point in time I am staring at her in utter shock while she still hadn't offered to clean any of it up or even ask if i'm okay. The entire time I was sitting there with the hot water all over the table and my lap, she was HELPING OTHER CUSTOMERS while I am sitting in hot soup. At this point I just walked up to the front counter where she was just finishing a payment with another customer, and I demanded my tip back. (I paid for my meal before it arrived to the table + tip included) --Anyways, I understand that by me spilling some of my meal everywhere it was rude and could also come across as disrespectful but we as humans MAKE MISTAKES. I acknowledged the fact that I had been clumsy as I was red in the face and embarrassed, but that still does not give her the right to treat a PAYING COSTUMER with so little respect. I have been going to this Pho joint for years as they make delicious soup, but I will not be going back again. They have obviously changed management and the waitress's are very rude apparently. I hope if you do decide to go to Pho Goodness, your experience turns out much better than mine. And again, don't get me wrong the food was absolutely delicious but service was dreadful as I felt personally attacked. The whole purpose of writing reviews on restaurants is to be heard. Customers WANT TO BE HEARD. They want to feel like they have a...

Not recommended Unhealthy. Super salty...... February 13 2024, 11:30 am. Very hungry we went in Pho Goodness thinking about eating good quality Vietnamese food. We were disappointed when our soups were served because of the level of SALT was too MUCH. We had only one sip to realized it was not prepared as it should. We had been in other Vietnamese restaurants as pho is our favorite food. We asked the young boys if the chef could lower the saltines taking the broth out and adding hot water. They did not. Instead a saltier solution was added in. We asked immediately to please do something for us in order to make the soups edible. They said they cannot. We were forced to leave our uneaten soups on the table. We stood up and paid for something we did not eat. While we were paying, we asked one more time to the young people if they can do something to make the soups edible and they just passed us the machine to pay with the tip screen ready for us to pay. We would not mind giving them a deserved tip if at least the service was thoughtful, but they did not offer any options. We could not eat a sip of those soups because they were not well prepared, they had not the customer experience in mind and then, their profit seems to be the only thing they think about in their minds. We paid for such unpleasant experience and for those young people to hopefully be funded proper training. There was not a manager nor a supervisor to talk to. These young men are not to blame but the people who hired them without proper training. The place is not recommended in our opinion. A quality improvement regarding healthy food, not just Sodium Mono glutamate or MSG. We are very upset to be treated like if we were not humans. Please owner, with due respect check your CCTV and realize our...

Sadly Disappointed,,been coming here over 2 years,,in the past have been recommending it too many out of town visiting guests from the hotel where I work.. unfortunately due too my experience,,I believe it's lost its food quality ...The lady who serves is wonderful/pleasant...the food quality has gone way down, portions are smaller , prices are higher..I ordered $20 of food (dine in) Pho rare beef soup & pork spring rolls.. The spring rolls were so incredibly oily ,they were drenched/soaked in oil ,I took one small bite & the oil was either not hot enough in the deep fryer? or maybe the oil needed too be changed ? Also I've never been served such skinny tiny small rolls..the pho soup had a smaller portion of rare beef & only a few noodles ..I immediately mentioned it too the server & she said it's how it is always ...I believe her hands are tied & cannot let the cook know ,they are loosing their food quality that used too be served there..its a rainy cool ,Friday supper hour not one guest inside the restaurant..that should have been my first red light ..I stayed 1.5 hours and only one table of 2 came in ??? Something is off here !!!! I noticed going home Pho Central across the street was busy & in room dinning was busy as well. I was not offerd a fresh meal or a discount & neither did I ask for one or anything too be made right ..I quietly showed my food upon arrival & paid the entire bill ..will not return or recommend this restaurant in the future going forward .. P.S. They've changed the type of rice paper on their Spring rolls & it's a completely different oil soaked disappointment I'm dissatisfied with the food...
