An urban park with beauty and despair on display with equal measure. At times there are people drinking and smoking weed in the park, but they're not offensive or aggressive. To balance them out and outnumber them you’ll finds large groups of young mothers sprawled across the lawn having a relaxed and friendly picnic with their new little ones— with no worry or fear of harm. I take my dog to the off leash dog park here a few times a week, she loves it and I like the dogs owners - they're friendly, but not overly so. We each take turns pointing out when it's time to look up from our phones and pick up after our little ones, lol. The planting and design of the park is also very nice and progressive. With a children's nursery, playground and a public, self-cleaning toilet free...

Nestled in the heart of the city, Nelson Park is a delightful escape from the urban hustle. This charming park may be small, but it's packed with beauty and tranquility. The well-maintained paths are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk jog, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flower beds. A small pond in the center, with ducks and geese, adds a touch of natural serenity The playground area is a hit with kids, offering modern and safe equipment. Benches strategically placed throughout the park offer spots for relaxation and people-watching. It's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, ideal for picnics, reading, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. Despite its central location, the park maintains a peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect...

In Manotoba at the moment and all I dream about is Nelson Park. Now you may not think this is saying much, as Manotoba is a quite desolate place in the backwaters of the universe, where jedi's and space pirates who really have some dirty laundry to hide may hangout.. but as soon as I am off the plane in Vancouver I will be getting a taxi to Nelson park. Why? Because I live there and am tired. In other words, it is simply a pretty regular park. Please see the photo of someone charging their rascal at the local gas station. One star has been deducted because of the delayed flight at Manotoba airport and the dry ground in the park, dry and miserable worms live here.

A large park in the centre of the west end. Located in the heart of the beautiful West End, Nelson Park offers lawns and seating areas that are enjoyed by all. Nelson Park was redeveloped in 2007 after a three-year consultation period with the community. The redeveloped park features new entryways, an elegant pathway system, seating plaza, metal arbours and a restful water feature. The off-leash dog area on the park's west side is enclosed with decorative metal fencing. During redevelopment, the Park Board retained, amended and reused the soil in the park. Granite removed from the old, dismantled park field house was used to as a base for the new water feature.
