Vegan Mexican food is hard to come by, even in Mexico, but Sazon is introducing vegan options to their menu on Wednesdays. As a preview, 31 people from the Meatless Meetup group dined there tonight and we all left happy and with our appetites sated.
Our menu was: Beverages: Jamaica fresh water with hibiscus extract Lime-cucumber fresh water Appetizers: Corn tortilla chips and homemade salsa Corn tortilla chips and guacamole (avocado smashed with pico de gallo, lime, EVO, spices and salt) Starters: Lentil soup (lentil, carrots, and potato in spiced tomato soup) Tacos: Potato and Poblano Chile Butternut Squash and Mushrooms in tomato salsa with a touch of chipotle chile Mains: Enchilada: filled with Cabbage and Carrots Tinga (tomato salsa with a touch of morita chile) with rice and refried beans on the side. Burrito Dryed: filled with Zucchini and Corn Mexican style with rice and refried beans inside. Desserts: Coconut rice pudding Chocolate Cake
Without exception, everything was delicious and the service, particularly given the size of our group, was exceptional. I spoke to the owner after the dinner who confirmed she plans to expand the vegan options on the menu. I can't wait to go back...

My family was doubtful about Mexican food in Canada, in fact, we me a stop right before the border to get some before we go; but YOU GUYS rocked our World!
All my uncle talked about while at the Folk Festival was how we can go back, or order to our hostel.
Too bad you guys couldnāt set up a food cart there because you works have blown every place out of the water!
Incredibly fresh! The salsa has some actual heat. The crema didnāt taste store bought. It felt like cultured local milk. The display of all of our entrees were beautiful. The actual chef came out and served the dishes. I love when artist take pride in their work, as he should.
Carlos is an incredible host. Not only inviting, but genuine and helpful. ā¤ļø There was a lovely young lady that helped is originally and she was the best! My Uncle even mentioned that he would hire her in a heartbeat and how she is an ideal image for the business. Gallant, efficient, tentative and helpful.
We got the empanadas- chorizo papas, carne y pollo. Enchiladas de Tinga Un Cafe con leche Un vodkachata Guacamole And this bomb breakfast burrito
I recommend all of it.
I canāt say enough...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in today and ordered enchiladas. They were pretty uninspired, but ok. I wouldnt have minded, especially for lunch. However, the waitress was absolutely awful. Despite there being only one other table for the majority of the time that I was there, the waitress completed ignored me. No refills on water, no checking to see how the food was. I wanted to order something else so I kept trying to get her attention but she just stayed standing behind the counter fiddling with the espresso machine. Then, after about half an hour of no service (zero contact with me since she brought the food), she immediately brings me the bill and the receipt, essentially pushing me out the of the restaurant. She didn't even bother to check if I was done ordering things before she closed out my bill. I was shocked, especially since I had been trying to get her attention to order something for half an hour. When I told her that I was shocked at her service, she didn't even apologize and just ignored me. I never write reviews, but the service today was so bad that I decided to. I don't recommend that...
