I don't typically write public reviews however I'm hoping that this gets directed to the restaurant ownership. My partner and I used to love coming here however after Covid there has been a big decline in the service and quality. During one dine in visit there only 1 person working (as both a server and cook) and she was not wearing a mask. She did put it on right away when I asked and it did seem like an honest mistake. However we ended up waiting over 45-50 minutes for our food (two bowls of beef pho) and were not served any tea/water until we asked for it. There was only 1 other small group dining in. On a recent takeout experience on a Monday night, they told us 15 minutes for pickup. We arrived on time but the one server (this time there was a cook) was chatting with another customer. It took some time to be acknowledged. We then were told to wait and waited another 30 minutes for the food. Then we were told that the debit machine was down so if we could e-transfer them instead as we didn't have cash. When we got home we noticed one order was wrong and the salad rolls tasted somewhat off.
Unfortunately we won't be coming back here, which is...
Read moreWe went there for lunch. We were acknowledged by the waitress when we walked in. She told us to sit down. That's where everything went downhill. She forgot all about us. She was in the kitchen with the cook for about 15 mins. There were only 2 other tables. The food took like 20 mins before we got it. I ordered the dry egg noodles with assorted meats, and it came with the regular pho noodles and in soup. I told her that I ordered the dry noodles. She said that we don't have it right now. Why would you make something else for the customer if you don't have it? Why not just come and tell me that you don't have it so I can order something else? The food was really below par. The service was below par.
We won't be going back. It's too bad because I used to go there almost...
Read moreWe’ve order from here twice now, and never been disappointed. Fantastic portions, and packed full of flavors. They also have a couple of menu options which stand out as little different from some Vietnamese restaurants, and they’re also delicious. Don’t underestimate how tasty they can make a “mince meat patty” or an “egg cake” !! Prices are also very reasonable ($30 or so to feed two people) and are probably cheaper in store than Skip the Dishes. We have not visited the restaurant yet so cannot speak to the service. However hope to...
