I get it that more people want to try this than they can make the drinks. So yes, if you want it when everyone else wants it, you need to wait. I get that.
What I don't get is why they run out of the brown sugar mixture but the employees putter about for 20 minutes twiddling their thumbs, chatting with each other, and playing with the straws. It's the worst display of incompetence and lack work ethic I have ever seen, to the point where I am in disbelief. If you have to try it, fine, but be prepared to wait an extra 20 minutes because of unmotivated, and apparently unintelligent employees who can't take the initiative to make the next batch when the previous batch has run out. Some reviewers say they run out of bubbles. I don't even know how to express how stupid it is for a bubble tea place not to keep up with making their bubbles. Don't pretend like you didn't know you were going to have so many orders!
My cats have more motivation, and a highshool student can figure out how to run this better than this. If you are the owner, get a new manager and a new set of employees. They are wasting wages and killing your goodwill. If you are deliberately slowing down production to build up the line and hype, shame on you.
I don't have enough words to express the contempt I feel for how this business is run.
BTW, the "flagship drink" is so-so. I might pay $4.00 for it with no wait time. $6.50 + all this aggravation watching people waste everyone's time?...
Read moreHorrible Service! Long wait, poor service, do not go!! I came here because a friend wanted to come check out this Taiwanese bubble tea chain. Since my friend loves bubble tea, when I was about to pay, I decided to get the membership card. But wait, why do customers need to pay to be a member whereas many other bubble tea chains membership cost is $0 (OneZo, The Alley). The membership at XFT cost $5. Is the membership card worth it? No. Anyhow, since this is a dear friend of mine, I decided to get it. Upon activating the membership card, the staff messed up, inputted the wrong $ and forced us to pay more than what we had asked for. They told us they put in the wrong amount and they want us to pay more to get the refund? This doesn't make sense.... We ended up waiting at the store for an hour for them to figure out this issue. However, in the end, they still did not resolve this issue. They claimed that they have refunded me but they couldn't show any proof. They never gave me the drinks as well, how disappointing!!!! We went to the store for nothing ... They had lots of staff working but none of them knew what to do. They didn't even apologize for their own mistakes. The management needs to do something about this. I will never go back to this place. Why got to this one when other places are so much better (The Alley or any other XFT locations). Hopefully the other locations won't be as bad...
Read moreWent with my sister, but didn't know it was the grand opening day so we had to wait about 40 minutes just to place an order. I ordered the flagship product Brown Sugar Pearl Milk and she ordered the Brown Sugar Pearl Black Tea Latte. The Brown Sugar Pearl Milk was a little disappointing after all the hype. The pearls are NOT made of brown sugar. The pearls are actually just regular pearls that have been mixed with melted brown sugar which is nothing special. The drink certainly looks like it has all the bells and whistles since you even get a layer of cheese foam on top, but it wasn't for me. Yes, it uses real milk and not powder, but you are essentially paying $6.50 for milk with regular pearls and cheese foam. This os the same for the Brown Sugar Pearl Black Tea Latte. You get real milk, tea, and regular pearls for $6.50 with no added sugar. At which point you might as well go somewhere else for bubble tea since the size of the cups here are smaller than the usual sizes you see. If anyone is tempted to try the flagship product, I would instead recommened OneZo's dirty tea series as the pearls in those are real brown sugar pearls and...
