I have been going to this place for a long time. I found this place through Google. I checked up on them. They accept credit cards and are open late. I have praised this place to many people. In fact, they go there as if I never said anything to them about this restaurant. This is a fabulous restaurant. The bowls, spoons and utensils they use are top standard. The food, itself, is outstanding. Previous members of staff knew me. I enter & they know exactly what my order is. Last night, at 23 40 on May 29th 2023, was very disappointing. I sat in my usual place underneath the television. The dud, who was supposed to be my server, came up to me.....prior to my order inserted in place.....ordered me to move away from my table. He ordered me to sit at a table next to the door. Pretending, that I was deaf or hearing impaired, I asked him to repeat what he said. He told me to move away from this table underneath the television to one that is nearer to the door. Apparently, according to himself, he 'cleaned' this table, prior to my occupancy. I, straight up with a death stare & wearing my face mask, told him that I will not be sitting next to the door. His demeanour, on foot of the exercise of my rights as a paying customer, was very poor. In fact, it was rude and hostile. I debated whether to leave the restaurant, but I stood my ground. He dropped a glass of water on my table. I asked him for a glass of ice. When it came to the point of ordering my food, I asked the dude 'Hey, you're okay, right?' I challenged him, saying that I feel he is 'edgy" and I questioned his behaviour. This place is a fantastic restaurant: great food, proper choice of payment methods, high standard bowls and utensils. It is a superbly clean & hygienic restaurant. I cannot recommend it enough. Unfortunately, I went there on May 29th last at 23 40 and I was instantly mistreated by this male dude that I never encountered before. I am not representing myself. Instead, I wish that if another customer comes in at that time, or any time, s/he will not be addressed the way I encountered. It is my ultimate expectation that any folk that enters a restaurant will be treated with the most courtesy and accommodation. It should never be an inconvenience for the restaurant staff to address a customer. Customers have the infinity of rights to sit wherever they choose and to pay for their purchase by whatever method that suits them. How long does it take to clear and clean a table? Much less than the length of a song. It is a capital punishment for a restaurant staff to dictate where a customer chooses to sit. That discretion lies firmly with the pundit. Some choose to sit away from the door due to the extended hurricane that unfolds when people leave or exit. The absolute baseline, a measurement, is that no customer should enter a restaurant and be treated inadversly. Can I please ask the manager to take countenance of this feedback? This guy is not an advisory for the restaurant industry. His performance was very poor and flippant. I wish that you will talk to him. If he treats others in the mannerism that I received, you guys are destined to lose customers. I may be seen as representing myself. On an industrial scale, I am representing other people that enter the restaurant, and, indeed, the proprierters of the same. What action you take on foot of this review is at your discretion. My most stature is that I will stand for this restaurant. I expect that other folk will not be greeted by this po-faced attitude that I experienced.

Yours...

Very impressed with the food quality, authentic flavors and vegetarian options at this restaurant!

Great food no matter what time of day or night. After a long day of walking and playing tourist in my old hometown, I was craving something nourishing and healthy.

Went with a friend on a Tuesday late evening at 9pm and watched it go from a slow-but-steady to quite busy. Food looked great coming out and all the patrons seem to be pleased. Really enjoyed the ambience because it doesn't have TVs or radio blaring (thank you owners!)

The only downfall is that they were understaffed with onlt one server whi was also doing bar drinks. While my food came out quite quickly, my friend waited over 25 minutes for her lychee mojito. Which she said was quite excellent and had at least 4 real lychees in it.

I ordered the vegetarian spring rolls which were a fantastic surprise because they were perfectly crunchy and not too greasy. They were nicely stuffed and had mushrooms with a great flavor, a challenge when usually the filling is just cabbage.

My main was the tofu lemongrass vermicelli bowl. Being able to have this with tofu as an option was perfect. Flavours will never be the same as when I used to eat grilled lemongrass chicken , but I was very impressed with how authentic the overall dish was with deep fried tofu squares as a substitution. You could taste the lemongrass with subtle Vietnamese spice blend (could have used more for my palate) but very nicely done. Tipped with ample amount of salad and super fresh veggies with a sauce that was a little on the sweet side, and tons of roasted crushed peanuts.

I did grab some photos but unfortunately with the halogen lighting, they are very yellow cast. Trust me when I tell you that these dishes were bursting with color and flavor.

Highly recommend this for dinner or snacks with choices to suit any ...

As we were driving down Cambie, my aunt spotted this place out of the corner of her eye and pulled over immediately. Best decision EVER. Viet House is amazing. We were able to sit in without fear as there was air flow in the restaurant, and the staff were always wearing their masks. They were very kind, and made sure to double check our orders so it was all correct. I had the wonton noodle soup and was thoroughly impressed! The portion was huge, the broth was light and flavourful, the Bok Choy was fresh and not overcooked, the noodles (which were not skimped on!) were the perfect texture, and the wontons, oh the wontons!! They were absolutely stunning. I have had a lot of wontons in my life, and these handmade bundles of joy were perfect -- the right size, texture, and flavour. I mixed together the small bowl of sauces they gave to me (hoisin (I think), sriracha, and chili oil) and stirred it into the broth and it added just the right kick and a touch of sweetness which was very pleasant! After dinner, we shared the coconut tapioca with mango pudding, and it was a delight! The mango pudding was shaped like a rose, and while it was definitely frozen at one point, I don't think that was a problem -- it was like mango sorbet. The coconut tapioca was a perfect contrast to the mango, and I absolutely loved it. My aunt and I have been searching for a Vietnamese restaurant that is open late on Mondays, and we both agreed that this is a new favourite! We will definitely be coming back!...

I wanted to send my love to the chef and the family, I love you ! The marinated pork belly kho on rice is on point 💯 My MaMa passed away RIP, 4 Years ago, I miss her so dearly and I stopped cooking for myself because I would cry thinking of her food. This dish, I ordered and was skeptical. I cried right away when I opened the container. All the memories, all love, laughter and warmth, the light, from my MaMa's heart came dazzling through this dish, became tears of joy like I was home again, and MaMa was happy to see me enjoying the dish with her at her little shrine I have in the kitchen. Thank you so much for the quality of food you make. So far, you are the only restaurant that got this dish right like the way I had it from my MaMa's recipe. I wish you continued success and health always always. I will keep ordering this dish! Everyone has to fall in love with this dish. It is the cousin dish, to the Philippino Adobo, but, the lighter slightly sweeter more caramelized version though. JUST get it!

I'm actually really glad I didn't have cash on me today and the other pho restaurant just a few doors down only takes cash. This restaurant is clean, the background was like one of my old school hip-hop playlist (real hip-hop, not mumble rap or gangsta rap, real hip-hop). All the ladies (waitresses) were attentive and quick to respond to the needs of patrons without hoovering around. I ordered the house special pho and it was the best pho I've had, even outranking my usual spot in East Van. The broth was very clean and not just a greasy mess. From speaking with one of the waitresses she also told me that their curry won 2nd best in all of the lower mainland. I'm going to have to come back and try that. I didn't order anything to drink however they do have a wine list. There is paid street parking in front and also a bus stop I believe on the other block making it easy to access. Finally a pho restaurant that takes cash, debit/credit & is open until 2:00am (pre-covid restrictions).
