Authentic, small neighborhood sushi joint. Its been here for years and seems to be doing well with the amount of take out and delivery orders piled up by the door. Very limited seating but they do allow and seem to follow COVID protocols. My kids like the place because it has typical sushi, sashimi, maki, handrolls, bento, udon, rice dishes but also oshi sushi which is not found in many other sushi places. The ambiance is quaint with japanese decor, and the place is pretty clean. The service is quick and the food gets to you fast and fresh. The quality of the fish here is quite good, and there is a wide selection in terms of the fish and rice combinations. Parking is easy from the street, and we have come here many times for both lunch and dinner and found it to be consistent and reliable.

2024-8-19 the above review was from Years ago and unfortunately things have changed somewhat. The food is still quite good, but the prices have gone up substantially. As well, we ordered online for pickup and it was noted online that a 10% automatic tip would be added. When we went to pick up the order, the server plugged in the bill into the POS for card payment and didn’t show the receipt. The terminal was prompting for a tip amount starting at 15% and going up from there, but since the amount was different than I remembered from the online quote, I asked to see the receipt. She was surprised that I asked but eventually gave it to me. The total amount was crossed out in pen and a new total with 16% tip added and written in. There was no indication that this was already added and the store was ready to let me add in another significant percentage tip on top of the total. When i asked about the crossed out total and the new amount, I was only told then that tip was already added to our $220+ bill. I paid the total amount without adding any further tip and didn’t make anything out of this further, as this will be the last time I purchase anything from this store with such non transparent and unethical...

Super Japanese Grill. My family and I stopped by today for an early lunch based on a take out menu that I picked up a few days ago. They have a super reasonable lunch special featuring 2 items from their selected list plus miso & salad for $9.50! It was fabulous deal. I ordered California roll & chicken karage, my husband ordered a chicken teriyaki on rice and a tempura salmon roll, while our son ordered a chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki on rice. It was all delicious ! My karage has a spicy mayo dip on the side which gave the chicken a nice bite. The California roll was creamy textured and unctuous. My husband's Salmon tempura roll was a huge for 5 pieces! The teriyaki sauce on their chicken and beef bowls were generous with a nice balance of savoury & sweet flavors. The white miso soup was a lovely unami flavor. The dressing in the salad had a nice acidic bite and wasn't too sharp or over dressed.

This lunch special is available 11:30-4 pm daily and you could order a 3 item soup & salad lunch combo for $12.50!

Service was efficient and quick because we arrived before the lunch rush. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with dark coloured wood, small tables that could be moved together for larger parties and a couple of booths. Definitely a restaurant set up reminiscent of the small little places you'd find in Japan. Open concept tiny kitchen where you can glimpse the cooking and the sushi production. Small restaurant with a huge menu of sushi and grilled dishes available.

Located a few doors south of the Park theatre. Great place to come for a meal before or after a show.

My family and I will be coming back to this little gem of a place to try more dishes soon. It will become our alternative Japanese restaurant stop...

One of our coworkers highly recommended this sushi restaurant to us, so we gave it a try this afternoon. We came here for lunch and the restaurant was not too busy.

This Japanese restaurant has been running on Cambie Street for a while as far as I know, so the interior design looks a bit older. The owner did put an effort on decorating the restaurant in a Japanese style.

We looked at the menu and ordered their lunch special - choose any 2 items at $8.95 with miso soup and salad. It was a pretty good deal. I chose chicken karaage and chopped scallop roll (8 pieces) and my coworker chose vegetable tempura and spicy salmon roll (8 pieces). Both of us shared the dishes, so we could try different flavours of the food. The miso soup and salad were okay. Among the above 4 choices, chicken karaage was the best. The meat was tendered and juicy inside and crispy outside. The vegetable tempura was a bit over cooked (or deep fried). The edge of some of the vegetables turned brownish; and I personally felt that the oil was not fresh to fry the vegetable tempura. Both the spicy salmon roll and chopped scallop roll tasted average. Not "wow"or not "meh".

There is free street parking right or meter parking on Cambie Street.

The customer service was okay. We were looking at the chefs in the kitchen or servers/owners of the restaurant. It seems that they are Chinese or another ethnicity, but they are not Japanese for sure.

If you are looking for a good deal on Japanese food or sushi or if your 'eating' standard is not high, this restaurant is a good option. However, if you are looking for better quality of food, you may go to Sushi Aria on the...

My wife and I came here back on Valentine’s Day and this sushi is absolutely amazing. Easily some of the best sushi that I’ve had at this point. The fish is clean and the flavours of the fish stood out against the rice just like good sushi should in my opinion. The spicy salmon temaki was a good heat and didn’t overwhelm, the unagi was cooked perfectly, enough for a slight crunch but still tender. The tuna sashimi was easily the best part though. The tuna melted in my mouth and it was so tasty and dare I say... creamy in a way? It was just a really smooth cut of tuna and I still think about it from time to time. If you’re new to Vancouver or visiting and you enjoy sushi, I strongly recommend this restaurant. You also have a small variety of non sushi items to satisfy people who get dragged along for the journey, but I find the sushi really stands out from what I’ve had in the past.

Sushi 7 is a small but charming sushi restaurant located in the heart of Vancouver. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. Their sushi rolls are fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the Salmon Aburi Sushi, House 7 Roll, and Awesome Roll- they are simply delicious. In addition to their sushi rolls, Sushi 7 also offers a variety of other dishes that are worth trying. The miso soup is flavorful and comforting, while the edamame and Goma Ae are the perfect snacks to start your meal. I highly recommend Sushi 7 to any sushi lovers in Vancouver. It is definitely a place worth visiting!
