A friend chose this place for dinner and I am so happy we discovered this place! By the name of the place, I had assumed it was a Chinese restaurant but turned out to be a Korean restaurant. Their menu has a lot of traditional Korean dishes, but I was surprised by the "fried chicken" dishes as it's not what I am typically used to. They look more like pieces of chicken, battered and fried. I am more use to the Korean Fried Chicken that are in bigger pieces. Regardless, they were tasty!

[Jjamppong] - A spicy seafood noodle soup! This was the highlight of our night! It was so packed with seafood flavour in the broth, a little too spicy for me (I have a very low spice tolerance) but it was so addicting that I couldn't stop myself. The perfect spice amount for my husband (he has a very high spice tolerance). Highly highly recommend this dish if you can handle your spice, for those that can't I recommend sharing it with someone who can because trust me you don't want to miss out on the amazing flavours of this dish! Probably the best Korean seafood soup in Canada!

[Family Jjang for 4] - This was a huge portion and honestly feds more than 4 as we had a group of 8, but also because we ordered other dishes to share. The dish itself didn't stand out too much for us though.

[Tangsuyouk] - Fried pork with a sweet & sour sauce, I was not a huge fan of this dish as I found the pork to be a little dry and tough.

[Kkanppungi] - Fried Chicken with spicy sweet & sour sauce. Like I mentioned earlier, not the fried chicken I am use to. This was still good and packed with flavours and a good kick of spice but I still prefer a big piece of thigh or drumstick for my fried chicken rather than smaller bite size pieces.

Overall, the food was good, but if I had to go again I would probably only order the soup and maybe the chicken. They were also fairly busy when we went on a weekend at around 7pm and had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. Service was also a little bit slow but...

We LOVE eating here. The food is fantastic. Yet to try something we did not like. The soups are great. Noodle dishes are all so tasty. The 5 STAR WINNER for me though is the RICE! Oh my gosh the rice is to DIE for. It has a generous portion of veggies and egg, and cooked to perfection. The interesting thing is that the LARGE size of the rice is only $3 more than the regular one, and you literally get more than twice the portion. It is absolutely worth it.

Eating here can sometimes be a small challenge - mainly because it is SO busy at peak times that you may have to wait. I recommend calling ahead to ask if it is busy, or better yet, to make a reservation - especially if you are a party more than 4 people.

The staff are SUPER friendly and always ask if I have been there before. If you say no, they take their time to walk you through the menu. (Which is helpful on your first visit because everything is in Korean with English translations beside it, but the way they explain the dishes is much better than the translations).

Bottom line - we discovered this place about 5 months ago, and it has become a weekly regular destination for me. The value of the dishes is way better than most other places (quality vs quantity vs cost). Most dishes are over-sized, very good quality and very reasonably priced.

I have brought so many people here for lunch, and 100% of the people that I ate with all said they were seriously impressed.

I strongly recommend this place... you have to check it out at least once to decide for yourself if you like it, and I am sure you will.

(i.e. Dinner for 2 people, without alcohol, expect to pay $30-40 in total after tax and tip, and you will likely have left overs to take home).

To Beijing Sung: Please do NOT change what you are doing. You are clearly a very successful establishment. You have a great formula - keep up the great work of serving delicious...

I gave 4 stars a few years ago and have been a regular customer ever since and didn't feel the need to update my review. We had a big family gathering yesterday, which was a very unpleasant experience forcing me to update my review and the place lost 4 families, mine, my 2 brothers' and my parents. All of us will not be going to this restaurant any more.

Issues : 2 Family size dishes we ordered came with sauce poured on top when we clearly asked for both dishes to have sauce on the side. When first dish came with sauce on top, the server was apologetic, we didn't make a big deal out of it and took the dish as is, but the same mistake on the second dish? As well, the server didn't even know there was a mistake and was ready to dropped the dish on the table in rush and leave. When I confronted, was when he realized the mistake and said sorry but he wasn't even offering to bring the dish back to redo it. Since it was Saturday evening with the restaurant running at the capacity, took the dish as is. Third strike was a piece of dishwashing sponge on the third family size dish we ordered.

We were expecting a manager or owner to come by to apologize for ruining our family night out, yet no one came.

I went to the counter to complain was when I found out that there was no one with any authority on a busy saturday night to over see the operations.

That explained the poor service we got, mediocre food with lots of issues.

Seems the new owner doesn't really care to be there or have a manager with some kind of responsibility on the busiest night of a week to overlook the oeprations to make sure the customers are well served and issues are well taken care, why would I care to go there to spend my hard earned money to have a night out be ruined by poor service and mediocre food?

Very disappointed, not ever going to go back to...

Returned to a once-favorite spot after a while, hoping for a quick and satisfying dinner as always. We ordered Yoosanseul Bap (Stir-fried veggies and mushrooms) with an upsize (a new option for me!), Fried Rice, and Jjajang Myun (Black Bean Noodle). Skipping entrees, we were simply too hungry and a bit too worn out from a long day to consider a full spread. Reflecting on past visits, this place was renowned for its authentic Korean-Chinese cuisine, bursting with flavors. It's with a heavy heart I note that those days seem to have passed. While the stir-fried dishes maintained their quality, the rice accompanying them was disappointingly bland, a stark departure from what I remembered. Additionally, the complementary spicy soup had an off taste, as if it had been left sitting out for too long, leaving me to question my decision even in my hungry state. The presentation and quantity of the food have remained consistent, which is commendable. However, the lack of basic quality, a hallmark of what made this place special for over five years to me, was sadly missed. Out of loyalty, I'm inclined to give it another try in the future, holding onto hope that this experience was just a temporary hiccup. Despite the nostalgia and loyalty that draw me back, the disappointment was undeniable this time around.
