Felt like I was really in Berlin In The 1940s when I walked in here yesterday. Weird nasty looks from the 3 girls working. I literally asked her to wait while I look at the menu and she got annoyed.. rolled her eyes. Started speaking to the other girls.. in their language of course. I don’t know what I did to deserve this. The other girl made it, I said thank you. She said thank you and good bye in an annoyed tone and when I open it, the shawarma is fully open and not wrapped AT ALL. I don’t know what I did to deserve this . It’s at 11pm I came in. I am a black tall man, long hair with a beard, (shouldn’t be relevant but I’m a realist) so I realize many people especially immigrants aren’t well versed with many varieties of people in toronto. My appearance is something I have no control over but my money however should be very commonplace for them. I paid with a $100 bill and I think this is where it VERY turned awkward.because she didn’t know what to so with it. As if I broke a rule coming in there with so much money as a man of my appearance .. it’s cool though, first and last time bringing my money in there..I asked the only guy there “Hey is this how they wrap their wraps? He said “yes I think so” loved his honesty. He’s the Ann Frank to the Berlin donor.
Honestly though I really just can’t understand where the disdain those 3 girls had for me came from. I Literally walked in using one word replies very straight forward “mix donor”, “mix vegetables” “turnips”, “onions please” like I literally can’t understand what I did out of place..except just looking out of place. As I said I’d sent change that....

I have visited Berlin Doner and Kabbab three times and enjoyed their food, but I have mixed feelings about this place. Firstly, I must say that the food they serve is really nice. The lahmajoun, in particular, was incredible but a bit too oily for my liking. It is like a pizza-shaped dough with meat on top, Turkish-style. Other than the oiliness, it was a 10/10 dish.
However, the doner sandwich was a bit misleading as it's more like shawarma and not like what you would get in Turkey. It's not even close to the real Turkish doner sandwich. Despite this, their other dishes are really good.
My main concern about Berlin Doner and Kabbab is the price. The cost of their food is overrated and overpriced, which is not reasonable for most working people in Canada. Each time I visited the restaurant, I ended up spending $100 or more. I feel like it's way too expensive for sandwiches, and the food is not worth the price. With the amount of money I spent there, I could have easily gone to a fancy steakhouse like The Keg and treated my entire family.
In this economy, it's important to be mindful of our expenses, and the price of the food at Berlin Doner and Kabbab is way too high for what they offer. While the food is nice, the price tag is not. I would suggest finding other places that serve similar dishes at a more...
Read moreWe have been to the Major Mack location on many occasions. Just recently we have noticed that they are not very hygienic when handling food. They wear gloves and grab the containers from under the counter touching the handles, and unsnapping the lid. With the same gloves, they grab the toppings (lettuce tomatoes et) to refill the customer serving area putting the lid back on and putting the containers back under the counter. They touch the toppings with their gloves to fill your meal container or wraps instead of using tongs. They turn the shish kebob on the grill touching the dirty handle skewers using the same gloves and go back to topping. If they weren’t wearing gloves they wouldn’t be able to do all this and would need to wash their hands between steps. The food quality and quantity is good however the gloves need to be changed between these interactions of refilling display area, turning the shish kebobs and grabbing the containers to collect the chicken shawarma. While we wait for our food approx 15 min to be prepared, the gloves on the employees are never changed. 4.7 stars if they changed their gloves but only gave a 3 for...
