I had high hopes for Coco Azuul based on my first experience, but unfortunately, the inconsistency between two back-to-back orders was incredibly disappointing—and honestly unacceptable.
To start, I first attempted to order from Coco Azuul on April 25th, but the order was canceled due to the restaurant not accepting more orders at the time. I understood that it was likely a busy evening, so I didn’t hold it against them. Then on Saturday, May 10th, I decided to try again and placed an order through Uber Eats for two Ceviche Peruano de Pescador. I normally order from Los Chicos Brasa in Markham, which is my go-to for Peruvian food, but I noticed Coco Azuul was offering a 30% discount on Uber Eats, so I gave them a shot.
To my delight, the first order was great. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted amazing. Everything was packaged well, and I genuinely felt like I had found a new spot to enjoy and recommend.
Based on that positive experience, I decided to place another order the very next day, on Sunday, May 11th, for Mother’s Day, expecting the same level of quality. I ordered:
1 x Ceviche Peruano de Pescador 2 x Grilled Chicken Strips 1 x Calamare Frito
Sadly, what I received was shocking. The ceviche looked completely different from the previous day’s order—it seemed like it had just been carelessly thrown into the container, with random condiments added in. It had no structure, no presentation, and quite frankly, it looked like someone’s leftover scraps. It did not look or taste fresh, and certainly didn’t resemble the quality I received 24 hours earlier.
The Calamare Frito was even worse. It was served with what looked like chopped iceberg lettuce, and the calamari itself seemed undercooked, rubbery, and unseasoned. The dish was so unappealing I didn’t even touch it—it went straight into the garbage. It genuinely felt like no effort had been made to prepare this food properly.
The only item that was semi-edible were the grilled chicken strips, and even those were mediocre at best. For a Mother’s Day meal, this experience was extremely disappointing.
To make matters worse, I reached out to Uber Eats to express my concerns and request a refund for the poor-quality food, and they refused. I now feel like I wasted my money and my time on food that wasn’t even close to the standard that Coco Azuul had set for itself just the day before.
What frustrates me the most is the inconsistency. If Coco Azuul can produce high-quality, delicious food on one day, why can’t they maintain that standard, especially on a day as important as Mother’s Day? It’s disappointing to go from thinking I had found a new favorite to realizing I can't trust what I’ll get from one order to the next.
Needless to say, I will not be ordering from Coco Azuul again, and I will be sticking to Los Chicos Brasa, where I’ve consistently received great food and service. I also won’t be recommending Coco Azuul to anyone, which is unfortunate because I initially thought they had potential.
Inconsistency like this is unacceptable, especially when customers are spending their hard-earned money and planning meals for special occasions. Highly...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration with a group of about 14 people. The atmosphere was lively, and the service was excellent. Our server managed our large group smoothly, even with people arriving and leaving at different times, and splitting the bill was made easy.
My husband and I ordered the calamari and fish ceviche appetizers, along with a beer and a spicy mango mocktail. The calamari was okay, the dipping sauce was actually the highlight of the dish, but the portion was quite small. The ceviche was disappointing. It consisted of low quality chopped fish tossed with lemon and onions, served with two small pieces of corn, a few fries, and a small handful of nuts. The portions were underwhelming and lacked flavour or freshness.
The beer was standard, but the spicy mango mocktail while definitely spicy was missing the mango flavour. I love spicy food and can handle heat, but the drink needed more balance to be enjoyable.
The establishment did get pretty warm throughout the night, but the servers were kind enough to open the doors to let some fresh air in, which helped a lot. We didn’t try the mains, so perhaps they offer a better experience, but others in our group also found their appetizers underwhelming. For the price, we expected more in terms of quality and portion size.
That said, the DJ and dance floor kicked off around 10 p.m. and brought great energy to the evening. This place has a lot of potential. If they can elevate the food and drinks, it could...

My friends and I visited Coco Azul last night, Saturday, February 15, traveling all the way from Newmarket, Ontario, specifically for the advertised Spanish Night promoted on their Instagram page. We were excited for a fun night out with Latin music and dancing, expecting an authentic experience as promised.
However, upon arriving at 11:30 PM, the venue was nearly empty, with only a handful of people inside. For 40 minutes straight, not a single Spanish song was played—instead, we heard old English tracks like YMCA, which did not align at all with the Latin-themed night we were expecting. After waiting patiently for some Latin-influenced music, we finally decided to leave, feeling disappointed and misled.
The false advertising not only wasted our time but also cost us money in gas and effort. This was a frustrating first experience, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning. I also wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone specifically looking for a Latin music night, as our experience did not match what...
