We mistakenly went to this location. We usually go to the other Vaughan location. This place is a disaster!
I started by telling the waitress - who I will not name, because I am going to say this was just a 1 off bad day - that we have allergies at the table and would be doing substitutes. She had a paper pad and pen so I thought we were safe. My family is plantbased, one of my kids has a epipen for dairy and the other is allergic to soy and has never had dairy. We pay an additional $3.99/ beyond meat burger for the Jr. Cheeseburger meals- both kids ordered that. When she was walking out with the burgers, she turned back with them, because they had cheese. Not even a minute later, she walked back with the two plates- she just took the cheese off and brought it back out to us.
For my meal, I asked for the Ultimate Omlette. I specifically asked that she separate the eggs on its own plate from the rest of the filling and hashbrowns, no cheese and I was also substituting the meat for beyond as well. She brought not one but 2 omelets complete constructed. The first had cheese, the second was still wrapped in egg. I usually take the egg on the side to give to someone I may see on the street, since I still have to pay for them.
I am writing this as my family waits in tiers for their food. I asked for a side of seasoned fries, tho se came when everyone was basically done and I had to cancel my good order because we had to wait so long in this half empty restaurant. I don't mind waiting- it is expected with all of the requests. We were going to be given toast for the skillet that we ordered, because we weren't getting the eggs- her suggestion- she didn't bring it, then when I didn't see it on the reimbursed portion of the bill, she said the reason it wasn't brought was because it was for the Omlette. That annoyed me even more! No accountability. She completely disregarded the fact that she put dairy on my kids burgers- could have been a bigger issue if my kids were deathly allergic, and tried to downplay it and tell me it was just a slice as if that is her call to make. I am beyond disappointed. The manager, who came to tell me about the increase for the burgers never once came to apologize about anything. The half portion of seasoned fries were returned, because they came so late- the lemonade was literally as clear as my water, and she had to tell us which was which. My son tried it and it was water. The second glass she brought was actually lemonade. The girls had the syrup for Mango flavour and Strawberry flavour in the bottom of their supposed to be lemonade, but didn't mind it, because the syrup was sweet enough.
Never returning, for many reasons. The only tip I will leave is this. Allergies,...
Read moreIt's a local place I've wanted to try with the kids for some time but can't say I'll go back anytime soon.
We ended up spending over $75 on pancakes essentially. We were 2 adults and 2 kids. Both adulys had the original grandslam which comes with 2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 pieces of pork sausage, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs. We also both had a coke zero. The kiddos had chocolate chip pancakes from the kids menu (which comes with 3 silver dollar sized pancakes & a side - my eldest got bacon, so she got 1 strip of bacon with her pancakes) and got a hashbrown as an extra side with OJ to drink. My youngest had the oven baked mac and cheese as her main with a side of silver dollar buttermilk pancakes and a hashbrown as an extra side with apple juice to drink.
We ended up sending the mac and cheese back as it was more like a cheese soup - the waiter said that's just how it is, didn't try to fix or offer to get something else and still charged us for it... which is fine, we did order it Adderall (despite there not being anything BAKED about it).
The buttermilk pancakes were MEH at best... I could taste the non stick griddle spray. I tried drowning them in maple syrup but even that was disappointing... it wasn't real maple syrup it was like no name Aunt Jemima 😕
The images of the hashbrowns in the menu looked like crispy, golden brown clusters of finely julienned potatoes but what was served up was mostly raw shredded potatoes on a plate that didn't hold ANY kind of shape when you tried to eat them. The kids refused to take a second bite and I couldn't blame them.
Given that after tax and tip it was nearly $20 / pp it was NOT worth it and I'm certainly in no hurry to come back...
Read moreI went to Denny’s on my birthday to receive the complimentary breakfast. Before ordering, I asked the staff if there were any conditions. They clearly told me the only rule was that the meal must be eaten in the restaurant. I also informed two employees that I was with my husband. No one said anything.
We ordered a hot chocolate while waiting. But to my surprise, just as the food was brought to the table, the server told me that the restaurant manager said I was not allowed to share my birthday meal with my husband.
It was shocking and extremely uncomfortable. We were not there to get full. We just wanted to enjoy this birthday gesture as an activity together. The situation made us feel so unwelcome that the food lost all meaning. My husband said, “You eat it,” but I replied, “There’s no way I’ll eat this without you.”
Even though we never planned to share the plate, we ended up ordering a single egg just so he could sit and eat something with me. What was meant to be a generous and thoughtful birthday gift turned into one of the most awkward and unpleasant moments, simply due to poor management.
The staff were extremely kind, professional, and warm—especially our server. I wanted to walk out, but I stayed only because of their kindness.
If this is a gift from your restaurant, the manager has no right to come and tell me—after placing the food on the table—who I can or cannot “share” with. It was offensive, unnecessary, and made the entire experience feel uncomfortable and...
