I took my boyfriend out for his birthday dinner and he chose to eat wings at Duffs (Rutherford and Bathurst). We arrived and asked where we could sit and we were told anywhere....so we picked a 4 seating table near washrooms. Beside us, there was a family of 6. We order our 2 lbs and enjoyed them so much that we decide to order 2 more lbs. As we started to enjoyed our second order of wings, one of the staff NOT our waitress asked if we minded moving to another table to accommodate a large party. We didnt oppose thinking that will be moved in the next five minutes, but as soon as we agreed, this young man started to move our plates while we were still chewing our food 😠. We looked at the entrance and saw that there was at least twenty people or more that literally were just walk ins. This was utterly rude and disgusting behavior offered by the stablishment. Are waitress came to our table and we made a complaint to her outlining how wrong it was for the waiter to move us while we were still enjoying our food. Rumina agreed and called the manager. This young manager approaches our table and we began telling him our concerns. The manager began to ask if we were asked by the waiter f it was okay to move, we said yes but we were not expecting to have our plates and food moved at that instance. When my boyfriend said that "this" was all wrong and we should have been left to at least finish our food our at least given 5 minutes the manager said that they would compensate. At this point we had one 1.5 lbs of wings leftover and Manager said that he would compensate. At the end we were saved $15 !!!! Unsure why they couldnt tell the walk in party of 20+ people to waot at least 10 mins. And why the restaurant thought it was okay to move us instead! Horrible. Will never visit this...
Read moreWaitress was great. However, when I asked for hot honey garlic Mixed with extra hot sauce, the owner came out to advise he couldnt do that, as when they are busy, it slows them down. Understandable (however the place was not even half full) so I asked him to put the hot sauce on the side. He agreed but refused to mix it, together in the back, because again, making that accommodation would slow them down... after ordering two more times like this, I discovered the reasoning behind why he wouldn’t mix it. He wanted me to get the “extra sauce” on the side so he can charge for it. It wasn’t the progression of service. he charges 3.50 for the Armageddon sauce, and 3.00 for the death sauce ... so that’s three sauces on the side at 9.50.... nice way to screw the people. You may have taken the 9.50... but you lost me and my friends as customers for life. Enjoy the 9.50 superstar. Better places to enjoy better wings where you won’t get overcharged. PLUS, you will get just as great of the service from the staff. Check out WOW WING HOUSE in Bolton, or kng henry’s At Yonge, and Carrvale, st Louis by Edgeley (woodbridge) or even hank daddy’s BBQ on keele and highway 7. All great places to enjoy great flavors of wings, cooked well, great smiles on the waitress staff, and great prices where you won’t be over charged for a few drops of sauce. (We don’t work for the competition. we’re just wing guys... we don’t have a problem paying for service and great food, and enjoy having a good night without having to worry about being screwed over for overpaying on sauces. Charge a $1 or 1.50 for the amount you give... not 3 or 3.50 for the same size you can get at all the other places...
Read moreI've been eating here for years and today is my last day. Ordered a pound of medium, lightly sauced. What I got was buffalo sauce soup with a small portion of wings. I think this place only caters to it's Israeli customers. He (manager/owner) was very outgoing, chatty and friendly with the Hebrew speaking customers and very cold/undfriendly to my friend (Jamaican) and I (Irish). We ordered a Stella which never came. We got our wings and they didn't seem fresh out the fryer. I know wings and they were definitely sitting out for a while. The manager was unapologetic and began making excuses for why my wings had so much sauce instead of immediately offering to fix the issue. He then proceeded to ask me how many wings I ate instead of walking over to my table to look for himself (1 wing). From then I knew it was a bad idea to send my wings back for a new batch. He was not happy and seemed to wipe his hands clean of us even though we were very polite and well mannered. I can get 10 pounds of wings for $30 no tax at my local butcher, nevermind paying $32.50+tax for "2 pounds" (more like a pound and a half).
