The food is so good here, and the ambiance so pretty. It's a shame that it takes 2 plus hours to be seated for brunch. While I was waiting I noticed some things that aided in the frustration of many patrons standing in the doorway, hungry and upset: The staff, while super friendly and knowledgeable of their menu, was seating parties where all patrons were not even present. Instead of seating a party of 6 where only 2-3 people were present (the other half didn't show up for a solid 20 minutes.. I was waiting for an hour and a half by that time, so I had the time to observe this) there could have been 3 parties of 2 seated while that larger table waits for all their guests to arrive. For a restaurant that does not take reservations, that would be a more valuable way to utilize the space and make profits on food and drink sales in the meantime. They had a lot of tables where patrons were sitting around for an hour after the food was cleared, nursing glasses of water, not ordering any more food, while those tables could have been flipped for paying customers waiting to eat. I understand that you're not trying to rush people out but that is what Starbucks is for. Politely ask if they'd like anything else after a half hour and then slip them the bill. Again, with no reservations - the line up was out the door with people standing in the cold, while tables of 3 and 4 sat around gabbing over empty mugs. I ordered a mimosa with my breakfast then mentioned to my server that I would want to order a Mocha once my breakfast came out (the mimosa was out first) but he never came back to check on us once we got our food... So I never ordered it, a missed opportunity to add to the bill and his tip.
The first time I came here was for my Birthday last year and it was a good experience, this time was a bit hectic and not at all what we had planned for a simple brunch. Not sure I'd go back, but like I said: the food and ambiance (once you're seated and not standing in the...
Read moreMy friend and I went for some brunch/lunch & to have a few drinks on the patio. Patio is nice, when we went the tent was up, and no option to sit in the sun, it was completely covered. Nice if you like the patio vibe, but I think a better option would be to have umbrellas at tables to give people the option of having sun or shade. We got sat right away, but then had to wait for our waitress for maybe 10min before she came to welcome us & take our drink order. We started off with espresso martinis. They were great, nice flavour, would definitely recommend them if you like espresso martinis. It took awhile again for our server to come back to take our food order. But it was okay, because we were enjoying our conversation. Once we placed our food order it came relatively quickly, food was hot, we had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich & the eggs florentine. Both if our meals were great, good flavour, cooked well, fresh. No complaints. We enjoyed our meal, at this point our meals were done, as well as our espresso martinis & we had to wait quite awhile for our waitress to come back to ask if we needed anything else, we were wanting to order a pitcher of Sangria. We were finally able to order the Sangria. It had good flavour, but definitely lacking in fruit, there were 3 tiny pieces of fruit in each cup. Usually when you get Sangria you have almost a glass full of fruit, we definitely would have liked to have some more fruit. Other than the serve being a bit slow, we both ordered water when we first ordered our drinks, but our server never refilled our glass. This is something that I believe should be a standard, especially if alcohol is being served. Water glasses should ALWAYS be filled. I would definitely go back to Evviva as I did enjoy the food. I just hope that service would be a bit more prompt. But overall a great experience...
Read moreI was really hoping that I would enjoy dining at this place but my experience wasn’t the best. It was overly crowded and the staff seemed overwhelmed with the number of orders when I went, which is understandable as we came during lunch. We were a group of 4 and everyone received their food (steak sandwich, chicken salad, etc) on time. However, we had to wait for an additional 15 minutes after they received their food for my order of vegan French Toast to be ready. The presentation of the toast was lovely, but personally I would not suggest it as it is not filling considering how much you are paying for it. The toast was dry and not very flavorful. I realized after that they forgot to pour maple syrup or even offer it to me, when the menu clearly states that it is offered with it. I also ordered regular coffee and our table had to call the waitress a few times just to get her attention and refill. I had to specially request for cream and sugar and had to wait again for a few minutes to arrive so was a bit annoyed as I like to drink my coffee steaming hot. I’m giving a star for the presentation of the food which was Instagrammable and cute. I’m also giving a star for the overall look of the restaurant as the decor is lovely. Lack of attentive service, quality of food not being flavorful and not even including everything promised on the menu, and the high price point which didn’t make up for the quality are all reasons I didn’t give five stars. If you want a place to look cute for the gram come here. If you are looking for delicious food and great customer service...
