I had a terrible check-in experience. I do not have a credit card as I prefer paying for items with cash or with debit and called the hotel before booking to ensure that I would be able to check-in without a credit card and leave a deposit with my debit card. I spoke to a female customer service representative and she confirmed that this method was permitted therefore I made a reservation with the hotel. Upon arrival I told the male customer service representative that I have debit and will be using that for check-in. He told me that I would not be able to use debit, he absolutely needed a credit card, and did not allow me to check-in. I told him I did not have a credit card and called the hotel earlier that day to confirm that debit would be permitted. Therefore I had already done my due diligence before booking and coming in. He absolutely refused and said the only thing that he could do was cancel my reservation without charge. I told him that option would be very inconvenient as I had already made arrangements for that night and could no longer go anywhere else due to the time and my engagements. I would be late trying to make other arrangements. He showed no compassion and said there was nothing he could do. I ended up going in my car and trying to find someone that would be able to help me with their credit card. I finally was able to contact my mother and had her try to attempt to use her card. The customer service representative sent my mom an application which would allow her to use her credit card on my file as a deposit, however the application would not work and made the check in process even longer. At the end of all this, an hour went by and the customer service representative finally agreed to use my debit card. It took one hour just to check in on New Years Eve which delayed my plans and arrangements tremendously. This all took place for no reason as the customer service representative ended up taking my initial form of payment which was debit. I am a healthcare worker and have been working double shifts since the beginning of Covid. I finally was able to have some time to myself and this experience was not pleasant nor restful in which I was looking forward to. I will never stay at an Aloft hotel again due to...

Read moreDO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL!!! I am staying here for the rest of 11 days of self-quarantine. Technically, I got a terrible accommodation and I got a really hard time for 11 days.
Firstly, the Internet is totally horrible. Imagine the entire hotel staffs and customers are sharing one WiFi.. There is no password, everyone can join.. You can't even make a video call, sometimes you can't even access a website or send a message...
Secondly, three meals are totally disgusting.. You will never receive a hot meal even breakfast. Everything is cold. There is a microwave in your room, but not every food could be microwaved.. Their meals seem like kept in their kitchen refrigerator a long period, because you always get a tummy upset after taking their meals provided.
Thirdly, washroom fan never worked.. Nobody cares and customer service could say horrible. When I was calling the frontdesk, some of their staff can't even understand what you are saying.. You need to find a perfect time period to call them to get another smart staff (at least some of them can still understand English.. Ok) good luck.. Try to pray to the Jesus first and call them could help you better.
Fourthly, every single room in Aloft has no Windows.. On the seventh day, I even got a hard time to fall asleep in the midnight. I felt hard breathe. I tried to call the frontdesk right away to request a walk out or walk around to get some fresh air, but seems like they cut off the phone line and I can't call through.. I am sorry for bothering them to get a good sleep lmao. Imagine there is no Windows and the fan is not even working, but you must stay in the room for 11 days and you can't even walk out of your room. You can't even keep your door open cuz they don't allow because self quarantine customers and visitors are totally living in the same hotel..
Personal Suggestion: Towneplace suites is a good place for quarantine. DO NOT COME TO ALOFT FOR...
