Gelato Gelato Pizzeria — Restaurant in Vaughan

Staff are good, caring and compassionate people and I will share this GREAT experience with anyone who will listen.

We have a family member dealing with some severe health issues and she is unable to digest most foods. During a recent trip to the hospital, she was given a specific flavor of sorbey, that she was able to digest, so we tried to find it for her. Several family members searched grocery stores and ice cream parlors all across the GTA, but we were unable to find this flavor. This past weekend Gelato Gelato was recommended to me by a friend that lives in the area, so I dropped in to see if they may have it, right as they opened. I asked the very pleasant lady behind the counter for the flavor and she said they do not have it in stock, at the same time a gentleman behind the counter overheard, so he further explained it is a flavor they do not carry in the winter, because it is more common in the summer and he went on doing what he was doing. I asked the lady if she can hear me out and explained our families situation and asked if there is anyway they can help or advise me, I would gladly pay for their time and effort. She asked me to hold on and went into the back. She spoke in a different language, so did not understand her words, but she returned to the counter with the gentleman from before and you could just see the care and compassion in their faces and voice. The gentleman said he would special order it for me and get it as soon as possible, he would need to order a large size container, but he would not give me a very reasonable price, which he did. I thanked them over and over again, paid for the container and made arrangements for a family member to pick it up in 2 days. When my wife went to pick up the container, the staff were again very friendly and efficient and had her on her way almost immediately.

People are very quick to criticize, but great experiences such as this are not shared. The compassion and the extra effort this business made to hear me out and help my family, words cannot express our gratitude. I wish this business and this family nothing but health and prosperity in the future and our family will be loyal customers...

We have only had ice cream there. the ice cream is very good and is very reasonably priced.

09FEB22 Finally had the opportunity to dine in. the atmosphere was very quaint and the staff extremely friendly. We all ordered the pizza and it was phenomenal. I had the vegitariana (just a little too much cheese for my liking, but great nonetheless). My buddies each had the capricious and they had no complaints.

Pizza was brought to our table in what seemed like 5 minutes (but I'm sure it took the standard 10-15 minutes). Meaning the food arrived at our table über fast.

1 of my party had the Fagioli soup and he said it was very good.

all in all, we had a great meal and will go back, with the families, to try the pasta dishes on the menu.

I hope the pastas are as good as the pizza (they set a high bar).

10SEP If you are wishing to dine in make sure you make a reservation. Got there (party of 6) about 7pm on a Saturday and place was jammed (great for Gelato Gelato, not so great for us 😅). The wait was about 30-40 min for a table. We decided to eat outdoors (unfortunately they do not serve outside) places the order and brought it outside to eat (approx 20 min wait for food) Had the 🍕 again and again it did not disappoint.

Would have ordered something other than pizza If they served outside, but alas, the tasty pizza had to do.

Hoping to one day try something other than the pizza, but won't complain if I don't.

As a side note, we left there about 9:30 and the inside dining has only a few tables open (2 tables for 2 and a table for 4).

Until...

Last night was the first time I attended Gelato Gelato after I've heard so many great reviews from friends of mine! I have a huge love for wood-oven fired pizza's so I knew I had to try. I booked reservations for the 4 of us (my boyfriend and two good friends of ours), and our table was nicely set up when we had arrived.

We ordered the bruschetta to start, as well as the grilled calamari (which was $18), but I was highly impressed with the taste. I ordered the vegetarian pizza- but I added soppressata on top, and I loved the taste despite it not having the tomato sauce base. I also had the chance to try the proscuitto pizza with arugala and it tasted amazing! I loved it. We ended our visit at Gelato Gelato with gelato of course, and I was highly impressed with my flavour- I sadly forget the name, but it was an egg nog base with chocolate chips, and it tasted beautiful.

In regards to service, it was pretty quick! Not a long wait at all for our appetizers & pizza, and almost all of the staff that I spoke to were very nice. I look forward to bringing my family here next time :) Thank you Gelato Gelato! I truly...
