First and foremost, I truly cannot say enough good things about the customer service of this company and quality of their products. My fiancee and I bought our first home recently and knew it was time to search for quality pieces to fill it. We knew we wanted to go with Decor-Rest (they have an excellent reputation) and ended up settling on the Bay Street Sectional. When it comes to a couch that is going to get daily use, I knew we needed to invest in a piece that would stand the test of time. I have no interest in paying for a cheap couch, only to have to replace it in a few years time. Unfortunately, the sizing of the sectional didn't fully work with our space based on the pieces that Decor-Rest was offering. We really wanted the sectional to reach wall to wall, however, because of the design of the room, we couldn't quite get there. To be clear, we LOVED everything about the sectional, but really wished it fit the space fully. We ended up reaching out to the salesman at the furniture store where we bought our sectional and were expressly told that, "Decor-Rest" likely would not do a custom piece for us. We decided to reach out to Decor-Rest directly on the off chance that they might be willing to work with us. They were phenomenal. They responded to us right away and made a custom piece for our sectional that fits BEAUTIFULLY in the space exactly as we had envisioned. Decor-Rest arranged things on their end with the furniture store in a timely and professional manner. The furniture store told us it would likely take 5 months...our custom piece arrived in 3 weeks much to our delight. Clearly, they ended up making our piece a priority which I am immensely grateful for. The moral of the story? 1.) It never hurts to ask. 2.) You should absolutely feel confident investing in a piece from Decor-Rest. This is clearly a company that cares about making it's customers feel valued and fully satisfied with their purchase. Read moreIf you don't plan on using/sitting on your couch, this is the couch for you! If you just want it for decoration in that room you never go in - maybe go with this couch. If you plan on actually sitting on your couch may I suggest a Lazy Boy or any other brand for that matter. Do you have children? a cat? maybe a dog? Then do not buy this couch as it will spontaneously combust. Mine ripped in several spots at the seams (it was literally busting at the seams). When I first bought the couch they did replace a couple coverings as they ripped almost instantly. I did express my concerns of it happening again as I could now tell how cheap the couch was made. Well less than a year later - Surprise! they have ripped again as well in several other spots. Thank god I don't have children or the couch would have only lasted a week. Did I mention I barely use the couch and I also have a Lazy Boy in the same room which I have had for 10 years and theres not a snag or rip to be seen!? They said they would not replace the covering from "EXCESSIVE USE BY PETS." The "excessive" use they are referring to is a ten-pound shih tzu occasionally napping on the couch, and only when we are present. It is more accurate to say that light-to-moderate use by pets have caused damage to the inferior stitching.
**Edit I have taken to photos to other furniture stores and they agree with me 100% its terrible craftsman ship and not due to pet damage. I have also looked up other reviews and it appears I am not the only one who has had the exact problem even though they "have not seen this type of damage happen before" (actual quote). They clearly just don't stand behind their product so are just making excuses at this point. They said the rips were "scattered" and "inconsistent" when clearly they are only at the seams. Read moreUPDATE April /24 : If I could give this a 10 star I would. Couldn't be happier. We were extremely pleased with the quick and positive response from the Decor-Rest representative. The cushions on our couch were promptly replaced hassle free. The rep kept me in the loop as to what was happening up to delivery and after to make sure everything was good. So impressed with the really high commitment to customer service. Outstanding and exceeding our expectations for sure. Decor-Rest really does stand behind their product. We will enjoy these pieces for years to come and looking forward to adding to our collection. Also, as for the chair. It was my mistake. I was not aware the chair was made that way for added comfort. After having it in our home and using it, I can understand why it is one of the bestsellers. Would definitely recommend Decor-Rest. Thank you so much!
March 12/24 : Pleased to say that a Decor-Rest representative was in touch with us the day after this post. Will be updating with the outcome.
Purchased as reviews say "good quality, lasts for years". Not really, even before a year cushions are losing firmness and sagging. Contacted retailer who said to send pics and will send to Decor Rest. A week later cushions were picked up and a week later returned. Retailer decided they were fine? saying that they will give and dimple when you sit. How about when not sitting? (see pics). Also, just purchased a Glenda 7606 chair. When it was delivered we thought the cushion was hanging over a bit much, but the retailer said the DR rep said it was made that way. (compare pics of ours and the one on Decor Rest website, definitely not the same). NOTE: gave 2 stars as the fabric and construction seem okay. So "very" disappointed to say the least! Not the quality we thought at all! Not happy with the way Decor Rest handles...
