Oh So Sweet — Restaurant in Vaughan

I wanted to provide you with my feedback in regards to the large 1st birthday order for Matteo that was picked up on March 31.  The cake was not well done at all and not made exactly as discussed.  To try ensure that this would not happen I provided you with exact photos of how I wanted it to look and gave very detailed instructions on any changes that were to be made.  The cake looked like it was forgotten about and was made in a hurry.  Speaking of in a hurry while we are on that topic, the next time someone has a large order, please be more organized during their pick up.  As I was told, my order was so scattered around the building (candle hidden in the back with the baker's, cake in another room etc.) that I was not given my smash cake.  The receipt was taken away from my husband who was not aware of everything that I ordered he left trusting the order was complete.  As mentioned the smash cake was not picked up.  The grandmother of the birthday boy had to sacrifice time instead of celebrating with her grandson, to sit in Saturday afternoon Vaughan traffic to come pick the cake up. As for the main cake, the finishing lines between the tiers were very poor and not straight.  The colour cut was very jagged and not straight.  The top tier was not a consistant black.  There were shiny areas and dull areas patched all over. The name was barely legible as it looked very faded.  The red colour that was used in the middle tier was by far the worst part of the cake.  It was an extremely dull flat red.  In some lights it almost looked burgundy.  I am in complete disbelief how and why such a colour was used when I again provided a photo with a vibrant red that is not out of the ordinary for Mickey Mouse... It is the red that Walt Disney used to design the cartoon!  In the photo that I provided and as discussed in person certain instructions were ignored.  The middle tier was far too short in height and the yellow feet were not there at all!  There were 2 yellow circles in the centre of the tier which.  Until now I'm not even certain if those were supposed to be buttons or an attempt at Mickey's feet.  The cake pops "red" was closer to a rose pink. I would have appreciated to have known in advance during the process of accepting over $550 of my money that you don't have a regular red as I would have taken my order elsewhere which will be happening from this day forth.  I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the product received.  This event took months of planning and was very special as it was my son's first birthday which we cannot ever replicate again.. It is a real shame that the trust I put into your company...

I never write negative reviews for any company but the service and treatment me and my family got by Rosa and her team at OH So Sweet was appalling. My mother and sisters have ordered multiple times from here spending quite a bit and till this day we had no issues in fact we recommended them to family and friends. I went to pick up a cake for my sister as it was her bday. Originally my sister had ordered a large cake for a large party but after a death on our family she later downsized as the celebration was canceled. Rosa was informed of the circumstances. As I came to pick up the cake the first comment out of Rosa's mouth is oh your sister ordered a cake for 90 people than canceled guess she ate the cake. I didn't understand the comment so I asked what she meant she proceeded to reply that my sister ordered an elaborate cake than canceled implying she just didn't want or changed her mind when she knew perfectly well our families circumstances. I was taken aback by her comments and attitude. They brought out the small cake as we decided at least to celebrate intimaly my sisters bday. She than proceeds to say to her coworker oh why didn't she get a topper her coworker responds she did but canceled it like everything else. I paid the remainder that was owed and left. Feeling very uncomfortable and upset by the lack of empathy and customer service. Needless to say we will not be returning and have let all our friends and family know not to return as well. Losing a loved one was hard enough without having to be treated so poorly. OH So...

This bunch saved our butts when another bakery messed with us for a day or so when it was already last minute. Funny thing is we are thankful as this store was the best and the other store had not so great reviews. We ordered a gluten free cake for our moms 80th, although it was not cheap - it was hands down the best cake I have eaten in a very long time (gluten free or otherwise). Ironic point is that I generally only have a bite to taste cakes as I don't typically enjoy cake. I wanted a second piece but the cake was demolished in short order with only a small left-over for my mother. Even though we were pressed for time, the staff were able to help us in faster timeline than they request. Everyone said the cake was beautiful, although these points are lost on me. When we went to pick up the cake, it was just barely in time for store closing and the staff was still polite and personable. Rosa is the only name we remember, but all the staff seemed great - apologies everybody for not knowing more names. We will be absolutely returning, 100%.
