I had yet another excellent meal the other day which I ordered through this exceptional seafood restaurant located in Vaughan, Ontario. This is not the first time I had ordered takeaway from The Lobster Trap as I had placed a previous takeout order with the restaurant back in October of this year and had dined inside the restaurant with friends several times as well before the time of the pandemic.
But my most recent experience exceeded all of my expectations! The restaurant’s chef / owner Jay really has gone above and beyond to meet all of my dining needs or requests. Not only was I truly impressed by the good quality of food I had ordered but also by the wonderfully generous amount or substantial portions of food that were served as well!
In addition to those aspects, Jay seriously showed genuine care and went to great lengths to provide the utmost level of satisfaction to me as a loyal customer or patron of his. This was clearly evident by the outstanding five star effort he made to ensure that I got everything that I needed for my takeaway order and then some!
I was simply blown away and very touched by his compassion towards me. This time it hit every mark I set and went even beyond to impress me better than ever before. All of the items in my order were clearly labelled or handwritten as well as packaged neatly well so as to make sure that there was no mess for me to clean up. The food was cooked or prepared highly satisfactory to my liking and every extra item that I requested was there for me.
But most of all, when I picked up my order from Jay at the restaurant, he gave me his word that not only would I love what he had put together for my order but he guaranteed me that I would be very much impressed by the attention or care he applied to meet all of my dining needs or expectations that I had detailed to him.
Well he was indeed right and absolutely correct in keeping his word to me! I’m still amazed and humbled at how well or carefully my takeaway dinner order was put together and executed by Jay as well as the fact that he went out of his way for me to prepare an splendid meal that I would remember forever.
The incredible love that he put in and the fact that he strived to give me more than I had expected really proved to me that the Lobster Trap Restaurant of today is better than it ever has been before!
I highly recommend ordering from this amazing seafood restaurant which serves the best lobster and seafood in all of York Region or in the whole entire Greater Toronto Area for that matter! Thank you Chef Jay for the most incredible and delicious takeout dining experience I’ve had in quite a while now!
You really deserve all the credit or highest praise in the world for your fantastic hospitality and sincere kindness in these truly challenging circumstances or hard times we are still currently faced with or going through recently. I cannot wait to get to visit you again soon at The Lobster Trap and express my heartfelt gratitude to you in person! Good on you for all you do to please your customers,...
Read moreCame here for a weekday dinner with a few friends. Wasn't very busy which was nice. Ordered a steamed 1.25lb lobster and lobster bisque.
The lobster bisque was great but my lobster was over cooked. It was so rubbery I couldn't cut the the meat into smaller pieces, when I chewed it I ended up having to swallow that portion whole, that's when I realized it was waaaay to overcooked. It was like chewing an eraser.
I ended up asking to get a new one but they only replaced half a lobster! This is really upsetting considering I paid $42 for a whole lobster and got much less than what I was supposed to. I get that a half of the tail was gone but it wasn't enjoyable at all (eraser). At $42 I'm expecting the whole lobster to be enjoyable. Not to mention there's lots of meat in the legs which I didn't get to, so effectively they served me 3/4 of a lobster that I paid for. They brought back less than they took back!
At their price point they shouldn't have to nickle and dime their customers this way.
The lady came out and advised that everyone's taste buds are different and I just need to ask them to under cook it next time. But I don't think it was a taste buds issue more than it was a texture issue. When you can't even cut or chew the piece apart it's definitely overcooked.
Taste is good but nothing special. If you think about it, it's literally a lobster, chopped it half, then steamed for 8 minutes. No marinade or anything. It's as simple as it gets. So if you like the natural lobster taste you'll definitely appreciate the flavors here.
I left really unsatisfied/hungry. This was my second time there. The first time was at their original location and I felt much more valued as a customer there (they gave us a $50 gift card because food took 1 hour to come out, but we ended up throwing the gift card away bc we thought they closed, didn't realized they moved).
It's unfortunate they don't seem to care about their customers' experience as much anymore. Their Woodbridge location is so much closer to where I live but I'm not sure I will go back or recommend, don't feel like paying extra to be...
Read moreI am strictly rating this restaurant based on my experience of customer service as we never made it into the restaurant pass the hostess table!!
We wanted to try this place as it’s close to our house and I had a craving for seafood. We are locals of woodbridge that supports local restaurant so we thought let’s try this new place. I went based on the reviews. We went on a stormy Friday evening (August 17th). I called at 5:30 pm to ask if I can make a reservation, I was told if I can come right away then they can take us in. We live 20 min away so that was impossible!! Subsequently my husband called at 6:30 pm and asked about earliest available time and he was told to come right away and they can take us in. So we thought we give it a shot. Got soaked in the rain on our way in, walked into an empty restaurant 20 mins later and we were turned away! Hostess tells us that we should have come right away!! Seriously.....???
I understand Friday’s are busy and there may have been reservations but we were told by the person on the phone to come right away. When we got to the restaurant it probably had about 4 tables that were occupied. There was whole section open plus an empty two top which had a basket of cutlery, right in front us!! They couldn’t fit two people in an empty restaurant on a rainy day? I don’t think we are going back here!! To be honest food quality maybe great which we will never know and don’t care as to us customer service comes first and I was turned off by the attitude of the hostess (the face of the restaurant) and also the fact that we were misguided by the person on the phone. That’s 20 min of my life that I will...
