I absolutely love this place! I don’t live in the Vaughan area but will happily take the drive up the 400 for the amazing food and service.
This place is authentic Turkish from the food, drink, staff and suppliers for their produce. You can buy items there from Turkey that has been specially brought in by the owners. The staff there are also Turkish, with their native tongue being Turkish, which I personally appreciated as I was able to learn how to properly pronounce different items on the menu. They were attentive, kind, and, from what I saw, never on their phones. They always were walking around checking on their guests, which I think is amazing service.
The atmosphere here is great too. The place is clean, bright, and tastefully decorated. They play Turkish artists, and sometimes the screen is on where you can watch the artist perform. You see the staff constantly cleaning tables, so the turn over time is limited, and they’re always clearing dirty plates after you’re done eating.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who walked me through the dessert selection which has so many yummy options including their cold baklava! The baklava is made fresh in house, along with a few other desserts. They do have some pastries that are locally made by another Turkish baker which I love that they support local.
I did have have the Turkish breakfast & also ordered the kavurma, and spinach börek. The portion was generous, I took some home. The food was fresh, well seasoned and very tastefully displayed. Our server did caution us on the hot plates, hot tea and offered us a breakdown of the offerings on the platter. While you cannot dictate how you want your eggs cooked, it’s important to remember that everything there is prepared and served as it would be in Turkey. If you have any questions or preferences, I’m sure the staff would be more than happy to work with you on your requests, as the staff that I met was extremely friendly.
Over all, I am very happy that I found this place as I’ve been coming in multiple times for counter service and was not disappointed. Decided to try sit down service today, and the great service extended and once again, was not...
Read moreToday I took my sister here for her birthday. Customer service was not good. We tried to order something, but we got a different thing. After they brought the orders all their omelet was under cooked & smelly. So we told them & after taking it back, the omelet that we already ate some from, they brought back the same plate, so I don’t know if they put it in the oven or pan!!! I never experience anything like this before. At any resturant when the food is not good they either don’t charge you or make you a fresh one for you. We didn’t eat most of our 2 omelet and when we told waitress, she said sorry and they charge us for the full amnt. I ordered a coffee and was expecting from them to top it off with hot coffee after a while, but no one came around to ask if we need anything nor … So for sure we are not going back to this place anymore & wanted to let others know , too. If you are charging almost $20 for one omelet, it has to be worth eating. Not for your customer to leave everything on the table & go. We spend almost $100, but we didn’t even eat a good $20. Our issue is not the money, it’s the mater of customer satisfaction & service. That unfortunately these days it would be hard to find. The prices are higher & the quality is worsen. Sad but...
Read moreI'm so glad I found this gem! I came in during the week so it wasn't so busy. The entire space was so beautiful! Having worked in stone & tile before, I can really appreciate the variety of wood, tiles, board and batten design all over the place. Despite a mixture of everything, the combination had a certain serenity, humility and culture incorporated in the design (personal opinion, others may think differently).
I was there for some time so I was able to try a variety of foods - and they were all great! I wish I took a photo of the baklava variety as well, but the chocolate pistachio one was amazing! The sigara borek and mercimek soup were a great combo. It had a hint of lime/tanginess which I did not expect, but such a delight! Definitely recommend trying these 3 items.
I was able to have a few conversations with Ozge and Ozlem. They were both very attentive and you can tell they really care about their customers and take pride in their space. It's very humbling and refreshing.
In terms of covid protocols, they had sanitizers right at the door and wore masks.
Overall, I was a very happy customer and will definitely come back again! It's a fairly new cafe and I am sure they...
