Super excited to get together with old friends and celebrate our 50th birthdays. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Should have been a red flag. There were 10 of us. They had the table in a weird L configuration, so we rearranged it, so people didn’t have their back to others. It’s not like there was anyone else in there. Overpriced drinks and food. Cheapest glass of wine was $20. First server was pleasant enough but seemed flustered taking orders. We ordered food. It took 1 1/2 to arrive. My chicken wrap was ok, but mainly lettuce and not much chicken. Fries were good. My husband ordered the linguine. It was cold and a very small portion that tasted like Ragu was dumped on the noodles. Don’t order the bruschetta. It was a greasy oily mess. Then a very sour waitress came and dropped the bill on the table and said it is one bill and gratuities have already been added. It certainly would not have been hard to divide the bill (there were 5 couples!) and still no one else in the place. It was so rude. I have never been in a restaurant where the waitstaff was not able to divide a bill. After one of the guys had paid, we wanted to take a group photo. I had my scarf and phone on the table. The sour waitress starts spraying the table before we had even left. Was she going to wipe the table with my scarf? Seriously, if your scene is self entitled young people this is your place. If not, find...
Read moreWe visited The Burg for the second time this evening. Our first experience had been good; however, not tonight. We had a problem with seating, being told that we either had to sit under the television or directly in front of the singer. When I inquired about two quieter tables, I was told they were being put together for a party of eight. I had called earlier and was told reservations were not taken. When I asked why these tables were being held, the Manager (who calls everyone 'Honey') advised that a larger party was expected at eight, but was not a reservation. If a party coming at a certain time for a certain number is not a reservation, then what is it? We were given one of the quieter tables on the understanding that we would be out by eight. One of the other quieter tables was later to given to another party of four. Confusing and certainly not welcoming. The food was mediocre, with a dry burger and dry wings. The fries were lacklustre. While our server was very good, he was overworked and seemed to be the only person attending tables. The Manger was busy hugging people rather than helping. Don't waste your time and money at this...
Read moreA friend and I went here just to talk about stuff. This place is located in pretty much the basement of another establishment. There is not too much seating here, but nonetheless, there was a table available for us upon entry. The menu is alright and has items that most people like, as well as a wide selection of drinks. We got the poutine for the table, and it was alright. For my main I got the Montreal-style smoked meat on white bread (I asked for that instead of rye, they were able to accommodate). The meat was really good and the fries were crispy. They had a dessert menu which has a couple slices of cake, of which we shared a chocolate cake. Everything took a while to come out, which I am not going to blame on the servers but more the restaurant on having such low staff. Two people on a Saturday night is absurd. The prices are fair, I suppose. And I am not sure if we came on the wrong night, but it was REALLY loud. I won’t be back, and I do pity the employees here, it’s not...
