La Baracca – A Culinary Experience Like No Other
There are Italian restaurants, and then there’s La Baracca—a place that completely redefines the meaning of exceptional dining. From the moment you step inside, you’re not just another customer—you’re treated like family. The service is five-star with a personal touch, where the owner and staff genuinely appreciate every guest, making sure your experience is nothing short of memorable.
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely unmatched. As an Italian, I don’t usually eat at Italian restaurants because, let’s be honest, why pay for something you can make at home? But La Baracca is next level.
For appetizers, I had the burrata with prosciutto, the fried calamari and shrimp, the crab cakes, the artichokes, and the meatballs—each one bursting with flavor and showcasing the highest quality ingredients. Every bite was perfection.
For my main, I had the blue rib steak, and let me tell you—it was cooked to absolute perfection. Tender, juicy, and full of bold, rich flavor, this was a steak that could rival the best steakhouses. My son had the crab pasta, and the sauce was nothing short of incredible, with the pasta cooked to flawless al dente texture.
And then, there’s the wine list—flawlessly curated to complement every dish on the menu. Whether you’re a casual wine drinker or a true connoisseur, there’s something here that will impress.
If you haven’t been to La Baracca, you need to go. I challenge you to try it and tell me if you disagree. The only downside? You might not get a table without a...
Read moreMy wife and I dined there last Tuesday for my birthday. They sat us in the back room area adjacent to a party of 14 ladies. It was beyond loud...it was unbearable. The acoustics are extremely poor at the restaurant. We decided to stay regardless and try the food. We had 3 different waiters, all 3 came to ask us if we want water, and all 3 came to take our order. When we told the other 2 that someone already took our order, they took it anyways..again. Ugh. It was annoying. We ordered the carpaccio, it is di Bresaola (cured beef vs raw). It had arugula and parm on it, zero oil, salt and pepper. I asked for oil and we put it on ourselves. It's better that it was cured, I can't imagine if they would know how to serve a raw Carpaccio and dress it accordingly. My wife ordered bone-in pork chop. It was just ok with little taste and seasoning. Once again, the chef doesn't know how to use salt, pepper, herbs, dressings etc. Plain. I had the braised beef cheek (Guancia di Manzo) - it was cooked correctly and had good taste. A little more gravy would be nice, but it was a decent main, braised nicely. After our mains, we did not see any of our 3 waiters for 20-30 mins. Nobody came to ask for coffee and dessert. That's the problem when you put 3 waiters on 1 table - they each think we are taken care of, meanwhile nobody was being attentive to us. They weren't very welcoming etc. We...
Read moreThis was the best damn Italian I’ve had in a minute. I came with family and it was our first time dining here. Immediately you are greeted when walking through the door, most of the staff is there waiting and says hello. Immediately great atmosphere. The dining area was absolutely beautiful, with a lovely little view through big windows. Lots of natural light is key for me so I enjoyed sitting there. It was a beautiful restaurant, I like how they don’t try so hard on the interior because they know the food is so good that they don’t need to go over the top with decoration and furniture. I ordered the Ravioli of the day. When I took my first bite the first thing I thought was how sad it was that this was the Ravioli only for today. It was that good. Cooked to perfection. I was so pleased when the staff came over to ask if they should make it a permanent menu option. I am looking forward to going back and eating it, I really hope they keep their word. Overall this place was perfect. The management really cares about the restaurant. The service, the food, the environment, everything a 10 out of 10. Sure it burned a hole in my wallet when the cheque came around but I would gladly go back...
