Milano, situated in the vibrant heart of an established destination in Klienburg, near the Woodbridge border, is a recent addition to the local dining scene. This elegant establishment exudes a warm and contemporary atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for business meetings or impressing a date. Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the establishment's modern and inspired decor, providing a pleasant and enjoyable ambiance that complements the experience. Notably, the background music was thoughtfully maintained at a level that allows for effortless conversation.

Our initial encounter with the attentive server left a positive impression. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and the ability to recite a lengthy list of specials from memory, including detailed descriptions, was truly commendable.

For our dining experience, we opted for a margarita pizza as an appetizer, and as main courses, we selected the wagyu burger, clam linguine, and shrimp linguine. Let us dissect these selections individually, beginning with the margarita pizza. Milano, located neighboring a culinary hub like Woodbridge, is faced with formidable competition. Taste Of Naples Pizzeria, Marcelo Pizzeria and Via Mercanti, just to name three pizzerias with absolutely stellar recipes, it's essential to stand out. Regrettably, the margarita pizza fell short. With a substantial layer of seasoned sauce atop spongy dough and minimal bocconcini, it lacked the finesse expected in such an establishment. It bore resemblance to the personal pizzas once offered by fast-food chains, albeit with less cheese. A neighboring table's pizza, while generously topped, was deemed insufficient for an adult's appetite.

A minor note regarding a 2017 bottle of wine. We received the wine but it was a 2021, if you don't have the vintage being advertised it would just be nice to have been made aware. Having said that the server did present the bottle and I hadn't noticed the year right away. Our server explained that this was due to outdated menus, the mismatch between the advertised year and the actual vintage was disconcerting considering this place opened maybe 4 months ago.

On a more positive note, the wagyu burger proved satisfying. Juicy, cooked to a perfect medium, and generously adorned with Brie, the truffle-infused flavor was delightful, albeit quite overwhelming. In the case of premium meat like wagyu, savoring the beef's intrinsic qualities is crucial, and in this instance, the truffle overshadowed that.

The two pasta dishes, on the other hand, were consistently impressive. Al dente, well-balanced seasoning, and remarkable flavors characterized the clam linguine and shrimp linguine. The clams were particularly noteworthy for their impeccable tenderness and taste.

To conclude the evening, we indulged in espresso martinis that were expertly concocted, delivering a delectable experience. The delicate froth on top and generous portion left a lasting impression.

In consideration of Milano's overall performance, a return visit is in order. While the pizza did not meet expectations, the exceptional pasta dishes and espresso martinis suggest the potential for excellence in other menu items. The server's mention of a 40 oz tomahawk steak piques curiosity for future visits. In light of Milano's recent establishment and the competitive landscape in the area, I recommend diners to explore this restaurant and form their own judgments as it...

Once again, the owner, Mauro has hit it out of the park in terms of the atmosphere, ambiance and food. The place is beautiful with fantastic decor and eye catching art!

Firstly, in terms of the staff, the manager, Mary runs the restaurant like a well oiled machine, organized and ensuring the patrons are taken care of from the time they call or book a reservation. We’ve always had a fantastic experience dealing with her.

Paulina, another member of the executive team who is second to none! As usual, when she is not running the show over at Avenue she is an absolute asset at Milano taking care of all of the client needs. She is warm and welcoming, and treats you like family.

The food is amazing!! Starting with the appetizers of which we have had probably all of them. The Crudo is fantastic and one of my favourites, but truthfully, you can’t go wrong with any of the choices. The main courses are to die for, and the mini pizzas are unique well-made, and absolutely delicious.

The wine list is absolutely robust, and the cocktails are well-made and tasty!

The servers are all excellent in particular Mike has served us many times both at Avenue at Friday Harbour, as well as Milano and he’s engaging, fun and welcoming.

Don’t believe the nonsensical reviews about the place being racist. We are a family of colour, who always feel welcomed. Reputational distraction by claiming racism is one of the worst things somebody can say, especially when it’s absolutely false.

Also, you must understand this is a high-end restaurant with discerning patrons. The patrons are lawyers and doctors and leaders of businesses. If being in this type of atmosphere makes you feel uncomfortable there are obviously many other dining choices available.

This is not a place where you come in with a baseball cap or street clothes, but rather dressed to impress-elegantly for a fantastic night out.

It is a high-end Italian restaurant. It’s not a vegetarian restaurant if you want vegetarian obviously there are many other options available in the city.

We have been back and obviously will continue to return with friends. This is six stars all the way well done to...

I visited Milano on a Tuesday evening around 7 p.m. We had made a reservation in advance for the dining room, so the seating process was seamless. We were greeted by the hostess upon entry, confirmed our reservation, and were promptly shown to our table.

The ambiance was stylish with an upscale vibe. Our table was located in a cozy corner with a sofa that could comfortably seat two, plus a chair for a third person. I appreciated that the table was spacious, with plenty of room for our food and drinks.

Menus were already placed on the table when we were seated. Milano offers a standard menu with regular items and a smaller, rotating menu that changes daily, as explained by our server. In terms of pricing, it varies significantly. Most mains start around $30, though I did notice a steak priced at over $200.

After we had a moment to review the menu, our server came by to ask about drinks. We requested water and were offered a choice between flat or sparkling. We chose flat, and the server opened a bottled version, which we later discovered cost $10 per bottle. Surprised, we asked if they had regular tap water instead, and the server kindly replaced it for us.

As for the food: I ordered the Mushroom Truffle Pasta, which was absolutely delicious. The pasta shape was very enjoyable, though a bit tricky to eat gracefully because of the sauce. However, the abundance of sauce is also what made the dish enjoyable: it was rich, flavorful, and creamy. The portion was satisfying - filling without being too heavy. I especially loved the variety of mushrooms used. I also sampled my companion’s Spicy Rigatoni, which was equally impressive: nicely sauced with a bold kick that added depth to the flavor.

All in all, a wonderful experience. My sole complaint was the noise level, as I had a hard time hearing my company throughout my meal. As a result, we often had to repeat ourselves. However, it's not really something within the control of the...

Tonight’s Disappointing Experience March 15th 2025 9:00pm – Not Worth Celebrating Here We had high hopes for Milano in Kleinburg as we came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disheartening. Upon arrival, the hostess was incredibly sweet and seated us promptly—this was the one and only highlight of the service. From that point on, everything went downhill. Our server was cold, unwelcoming, and completely disengaged. He spoke so quickly about menu items they didn’t have that it was hard to even process what was available. From the very start, we felt rushed and dismissed, rather than valued as guests. I expressed to my husband early on that I was so uncomfortable with our server’s attitude that I wanted to leave before the food even arrived. The final straw? When I asked for a dessert menu, he brought it but never returned—except to drop the bill. No follow-up, no effort, just sheer indifference. The only saving grace was the younger gentleman who brought out our food and cleared our table. He was polite and professional, and I truly hope the tip went to him. I should have checked, but at that point, I just wanted to get out of there. While the food was great, the service was absolutely unacceptable, especially for a special occasion. I wouldn’t recommend Milano to anyone looking to celebrate anything meaningful—poor service can ruin even the best meal. I certainly won’t be back, and I’ll make sure to steer others away from this place if this is the level of hospitality they consider acceptable.
