Hi Five Chicken — Restaurant in Victoria

ABSOLUTE BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN VICTORIA or anywhere that I’ve ever tasted. Their chicken is extremely crispy, juicy, tender and tastes insanely fresh as i believe it’s made to order. Also wanted to mention it’s very light so you don’t feel like you just ate a ton a fats and oils. I don’t know how they do this ? They also had a special on their 2 pieces of chicken which you can choose fried or roasted or regular or spicy. I chose regular fried chicken. They also have this deal on with their reg chicken burgers too. Such an incredible deal. I ordered delivery via Uber Eats and usually the food is soggy and cold. This was NONE of these. I was so impressed how hot and crispy the chicken was and the Korean chicken burger was ridiculously yummy and super crispy fried , golden to perfection. I asked for the Korean sauce on the side as I didn’t know how spicy it would taste and so the burger wouldn’t go soggy. It arrived fast and everything was still hot and crispy. I added pickles to my chicken burger and added my own tomatoes which made it perfect. You can pay a small fee to add these to any burger and I just felt it made it taste even more fresh than it already was. The brioche bun was definitely fresh and so was every other item that I ordered. The Korean sauce wasn’t crazy spicy but I’m glad I got it on the side so I could.control how much I wanted so I used it more as a dip for my French fries that were also crispy , golden , and fresh. I did put them in the air fryer for 3 minutes and then they tasted just like they came out the air fryer. I was so incredibly impressed with every item I ordered as the prices are extremely reasonable considering the amount of food you get plus the quality is like nothing I’ve ever had before. I wish i could have given 10 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as the food was way beyond my expectations. I would definitely order again and I highly recommend them to anybody and everybody possible. I’m so excited to try other menu items to review as I’m sure they’ll be just as delicious as everything I ordered. Since there is so much food I now have enough for 2 lunches and a dinner. I even called to thank them and Ann was so incredibly polite and gracious. This is definitely a gem in Victoria. Plus they are open from 11am to late most nights til 1am and Thursday -Saturday til 3am for you late night eaters. It’s honestly the best food I’ve had in a very long time and I don’t feel all weighted down and sick because it was not greasy at all. I can’t stress enough how delicious it is and how reasonable the prices are even without the buy 1 get 1 free deals they have right now on Uber eats. Thank you so much Hi Five chicken for everything. I couldn’t help but notice review after review of high 5 chicken in Victoria was astoundingly positive. People spoke of the juicy roast chicken, and the other features of this restaurant so much so that I had to make an order. I originally ordered through DoorDash and that was a complete nightmare. I spoke with DoorDash customer service and they said it looked like the high 5 restaurant had disabled being able to order right away or ASAP. The only delivery time I was offered was the day after 24 hours later but having no firm answers from DoorDash customer service online I phoned the restaurant. Got a very friendly young lady who didn’t really have any ideas on why their delivery window was disabled but also strangely enough she told me to try Uber Eats or their Direct website for high 5 chicken. Getting frustrated. I wondered if this was worth it all going through different venues to try and taste the chicken. I did try to order through high 5 chicken online and got hung again. Brought up my Uber Eats app and was finally able to order delivery through them. I ordered the churros, the onion rings, a homestyle, biscuit and a chicken, burger, and maple and chive biscuit. I live about four blocks from this restaurant and sadly it was cold by the time I got it, but that could be more to do with the Uber eats driver who maybe didn’t use an insulated bag. Onion rings were exceptional. I asked for them well done because I like them crunchy and they did not disappoint …..very tasty and way less salt than A&W onion rings. The maple biscuit was outstanding. It was one of the best biscuits I’ve had from a Restaurant like this in a long time. The chicken burger was crunchy and a lovely taste in my mouth and the churros ….(not expecting much because I’ve had churros from taco time) but These churros were amazing. They were crunchy yet moist inside and very flavourful and I definitely would go back again but hate the idea that when I couldn’t order through DoorDash I tied up $40 as doorDash customer service advised me there would be a three business day delay in returning my money. Today is Saturday I’m looking at Wednesday afternoon evening or Thursday morning before I see that money again and that’s an inconvenience. I don’t enjoy as January is a pretty tight month for alot of people after Christmas including so to wait until Wednesday when I ordered Saturday just isn’t impressing me at all. Price is on the high side, and they definitely need to install a stronger ventilation system. They only opened like a month and I can already smell grease in the dinning area. That being said. The price can be offset by coupons and I can always order take outs. As to the food quality, the lady fresh fried my fries. They were amazing. If they can guarantee to fry my fries to order, I will go there when I crave fries. The chicken drumsticks were another story. They r definitely not fresh. The crust was soft, batter was not flavourful, the meat seems to be salt marinated instead of using buttermilk. But this is fast food. Most likely they arrived fresh frozen. I would really prefer them to refry the chicken for a couple minutes while they fry my fries…Instead of just pulling the chickens from...
