Where to start about this place? So much to say, and all good. Excellent service, first of all. One lone yet very courteous server, who despite the steady stream of walk-ins, phone calls and take-out orders maintained grace under pressure and a pleasant smile at all times. The food is most delicious. Wide variety of authentic East Indian dishes on the menu catering to vegetarian and non-vegetarian tastes alike. The Tandoori selection alone is full of flavourful choices. We had the muligatwany vegetable soup to start. Served piping hot as it should be. Tandoori chicken next, authentically prepared in a clay oven, brought sizzling to our table, meat just melting off the bones, and the perfect level of spicy. We also had the mushroom muttar, and the aloo baingan, with a side of saffron rice steamed to perfection. The raitha was particularly fresh and a much welcome palate cooler, as well as the tandoori roti. We topped off our excellent meal with some piping hot Masala chai. Finally the price point. Given the excellent quality of both food and service, a full meal for two, with fine food of this level, for under $70 is almost unheard of. Let's just say I've been to places charging twice or three times as much and I was not nearly as satisfied. We will...
Read moreOkay, waited until our second order to make sure we could provide a rating that was fulsome. We are in love with the food from Wasaga Curry and Cocktail. We have tried Indian restaurants all around Ontario - we just recently moved from Mississauga where we lived for 35 years - and we have not come across better food. It is fresh, delicious and they supply bountiful proportions. The lamb is melt in your mouth - way better than any other lamb we’ve had at any other Indian restaurant. We have only picked up (no dine-in due to Covid) and the order was ready both times precisely when they said it would be. We order our dishes mild and they still have a good kick (a 3 to 5 out of 10, depending on your heat tolerance), so you may be better off asking for hot sauce on the side. Haven’t spent any extra time speaking with the staff (phone in order, pick up at restaurant), but they are always courteous and seem genuinely happy to serve their customers. I hope they are here in the beach as long as we are, because they have an excellent menu that we would...
Read moreIf you are Indian especially North Indian or would like to eat authentic or tasteful Indian food then skip this place, the food is flavorless, most curries seem to be made using the same base paste, the dal makhani has little to no dal and only rajma, tastes like tomato soup, the paneer is at best 2-3/10, the Chana felt like it was undercooked, the meat was blank, the lacha paratha is horrible, the service is even worse, scotch was watered down, they say fine dining but to be honest it felt like a run down dhaba on some remote place, the ambience is so bad, the sofa has the material coming off, washrooms are dirty, I’m honestly flabbergasted at looking at positive reviews, if this place was in Brampton or Mississauga, you would not find a soul eating here. Only thing good was the pop or juice coming out of a can. Don’t waste your money. Better bring 3 or 4 dollar dal makhani/paneer packets from Walmart, heat and eat, would...
