What an awesome find! I can't speak about the authenticity of the food, but let me tell you about the amazing quality and taste of the food and the phenomenal customer service! We were greeted by a gentleman with the name of Agshin. As this was our first time eating here (and at a Turkish-type restaurant), he took the time to go through the menu to answer several questions that we had along with his recommendations and excellent suggestions. As we were also curious because we never actually sat down to eat a Turkish meal, he enlightened us with some information about the countries that provided and enhanced this excellent experience. Everything from the absolutely amazing in-restaurant made bread, the tantalizingly tasty appetizer dips and the magnificent main course of our meal, all the way to the drinks and the after dinner Turkish tea and the dessert (The baklava - OMG sooo good). Overall, our family had experienced fabulously flavoured food and at the end of our meal - full, satisfied bellies along with leftovers for later - and all for a reasonable price.

Our recent visit to Canadian Istanbul was an absolute delight, providing an authentic and incredibly satisfying Turkish dining experience right here in Waterloo! My family and friends and I enjoyed every single moment, and it's safe to say we've found a new favourite spot.

And the food? Simply outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The Adana Kebab was a definite highlight – perfectly spiced, incredibly juicy, and cooked to perfection. The Cheese Pide was wonderfully fresh, with a delicious, bubbly crust and a generous, flavourful cheese filling that melted in your mouth. And the Meat Doner was succulent and packed with authentic Turkish flavours, making for a truly satisfying dish. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care put into their cooking.

Beyond the delicious food, the service was truly exceptional, especially from Abbas. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our group had a fantastic dining experience. His welcoming demeanor and efficient service made our visit even more enjoyable.

The Canadian Istanbul Restaurant in Waterloo is a gem! The place is impeccably clean, well-organized, and has an inviting open-concept layout.

We tried the mix platters and mixed appetizers, and every single item was fantastic, each with its own distinct flavor. The meats were incredibly succulent, juicy, and tender. The hummus and baba ganoush were some of the best we've ever had—simply outstanding.

The bulgur was perfectly cooked: moist but not too soft, hitting just the right texture. The spices were well-balanced, enhancing the overall flavor without being overwhelming.

We finished our meal with the Kunafa dessert, a must-try! It was crispy, moist, and topped with just the right amount of pistachio sweetness—not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced.

The customer service was exceptional—everyone was so friendly and attentive, always serving with a gorgeous smile that made the experience even more enjoyable. The Turkish tea was a delightful touch, served complimentary and even refilled twice, adding a warm and hospitable vibe to our experience.
