CC Violin is one of those rare gems that feels both warm and inspiring the moment you step through the door. The hosts, Li-Hong and Robin, welcome everyone with genuine kindness and community spirit. They don’t just run a café—they’ve created a gathering place that uplifts local artists with their ever-changing wall of artwork, giving the space a creative energy while supporting the arts.
The food and drinks are nothing short of spectacular. Their coffee is consistently excellent, and the baked goods are showstoppers—beautiful cakes, delicate desserts, and both savory and sweet scones that are impossible to resist. Lunches are fresh, hearty, and made in-house with care—whether it’s quiche, soup, sandwiches, or their signature salad. Everything feels crafted, not just made.
I recently asked them to create a Marie Antoinette–style cake, and it was absolutely stunning—truly a work of art, and as delicious as it was beautiful. My mom has a soft spot for their little cookies; they’re so adorable she almost doesn’t want to eat them… but of course she always gives in, because they taste just as good as they look.
It’s the little touches that make CC Violin extra special—the mismatched cups and saucers that add to its charm, and the genuine warmth of the hosts. CC Violin is the kind of café that makes you want to linger a little longer, savor a little more, and come back often. West Vancouver is...
Read moreStopped in at C.C. Violin Patisserie & Café later on Wednesday afternoon while in Central Ambleside. They are located on south side in the busy 1500 block of Marine Drive.
Although it might sometimes be easy to miss --- as the space is a bit set-back from the street behind hedged planters -- they have a definite flow of new, and regular devoted patrons. The owners told me that they were now in 12th year of operation.
On the fly, I ordered a large latte (2x) and two very delicious chocolate chip cookies. Unfortunately many of the amazing pastries available earlier in the day had by then sold-out. For the full range, definitely head in during morning(!).
All of their various cakes, pastries, cookies, soups + sandwiches are freshly-made on site. They also make cakes to order for special occasions.
The owners also have many interesting curio pieces and visual art works in their restaurant space -- especially on the long wall opposite the cake/pastry cases. This display area is made available to local artists/painters by the owners.
C.C. Violin is a bright café full of visual interest, atmosphere and charm, with warm family owners. Definitely a fantastic place to stop by for amazing pastries/cakes/coffees and snacks, as well as delicious light meals anytime...
Read morewe wanted to see why CCViolin is good. we already went to Small Victory, FDL, St Germain, MonParis Patisserie, Cup n Bun, and even Superstore & TnT, etc.
we bought hot chocolate and croissants because we wanted to compare them to all cafe and bakeries that we have went to prior. the hot chocolate is not the best that i have tasted. the hot chocolate cup we have is just the usual, bland, and hot rich chocolate. we do see some chocolate at the bottom of the cup but doesn't taste like the rich cocoa as well. croissant was actually stale and hard. so it was not pleasant to eat because the staff said they will heat it up but probably forgot to do that when we were told to sit down.
so me and my husband might not come back here for hot chocolate and the croissant.
staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on what to do but did forget to do what he suggested to do (heat up croissant). in any case, we might try the macaroons or small cakes since it might be their specialty.
The ambiance is very very good. paintings, jewelry, and other stuff is also being sold here. but for me i think they have a really good decor and bright light, but the food isn't really the best. good for long stay and just being inspired to...
