Deville Coffee Park Royal — Restaurant in West Vancouver

Having lived in Calgary for years I was super happy to see Deville appear in Vancouver- even happier that this one opened in Park Royal. It was always one of my fave coffee shops. The Iced (and hot) Nutella lattes are amazing. Their food is good one. (P.s. bring back that little brownie- my guilty pleasure from the Market Mall Calgary location!) I’ve been to this location a few times now- service is great- friendly. Food/drinks delicious. Space is super lovely. My only gripe if I’m getting picky is- because of the walls/floor and furnishings- there’s nothing to cushion the noise. So it is very loud when it’s busy. There’s music playing but it’s very quiet and a bit sort of, “tinny” so it doesn’t add anything to the space. But granted couldn’t be louder with people talking with space. Maybe some soft furnishings, some insulation or something to soak up some of the sound and stop it bouncing off all the floors/walls? Just being picky! My husband, son, and I arrived just before 7:00 p.m., purchased a coffee and dessert, and stepped outside to be courteous. After quickly using the washroom, a staff member came outside at 7:10 to say, “Next time, don’t use the washrooms after we’re closed. We sold you a coffee after closing,” as if it were a favour. When I asked for contact info, I was told, “We weren’t rude—we’re closed.”

This was not only unnecessarily curt, it was also inaccurate—we purchased before your posted closing time. If your staff shuts down early, that’s not a customer’s responsibility. A simple, “We’re closing—do you need the restroom?” would have been enough.

Deville Coffee opened yesterday, much to my surprise, in the former Artigiano location. Craving a good cup of coffee and a bite to eat, I decided to give it a try.

And wow! This might be the best coffee I've had in all of BC since returning from Europe. Seriously, the flavor is exceptional – reminiscent of the high-quality coffee I enjoyed in London's top hotels. I also sampled their pizza pretzel, and it tasted incredibly fresh, like it had just come out of a European oven.

The cafe itself is spacious and has a very relaxed atmosphere. Colton, the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
