We were visiting Por Por (Grandma) and my daughter asked if we could go to Milestones for dinner, so that's there where we went! Por Por had already gone out for a big lunch with some friends earlier in the day, so she decided to just order an appetizer for her dinner. She ordered Cakes by the Ocean. I ordered a Tuna Sushi Bowl, and my daughter ordered a burger from the kids' menu.
Cakes by the Ocean: These were breaded salmon and shrimp cakes. There were two of them, and they were huge! It really looked more like a meal than an appetizer. Por Por only ate one of them and packed the other one to go. I think I might try ordering it for myself next time!
Tuna Sushi Bowl: This was supposed to come with a cilantro lime vinaigrette but I have a huge aversion to cilantro, so I asked if they could do either do it without the cilantro lime vinaigrette or else do a lime vinaigrette without cilantro. I was pleased that they were able to accommodate my request. It was very tasty and I was super impressed with how many different ingredients were in my bowl. It was a very colourful dish. I ate up everything in my bowl and was so full, I ended up skipping breakfast the next morning.
Burger: My daughter loves her cheese so she squealed with delight when her burger came, and she saw that it was actually a cheeseburger. She ate up the entire burger and most of her fries. Her meal included a dessert and she had a choice of ice cream, ice cream sundae (costs exrtra for this upgrade) or an ice cream sandwich. Ice cream sandwich is what she decided to go with. They brought her the cutest little ice cream sandwich I've ever seen! I didn't know they made miniature versions of ice cream sandwich. Makes me wish I were a kid again so I could order from the kids menu and get my own mini ice cream sandwich.
Service: Good, albeit somewhat confusing. We had at least 4 different people serving us. I really wasn't sure who our main server was! I was happy though that they accommodated my request regarding the cilantro, and they were good about relocating us to a different table when we had some issues with the first table they seated us at. Parking: 🚗Plentiful and free! Location: Conveniently located in the Village at Park Royal so there are plenty of shops to visit before or after your meal, including two supermarkets on the south side of Park Royal, and one more supermarket across the street on the north side...

We had gone to Milestones several times in the past and the food and service had always been good. However, the last time was a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday night. It wasnt very busy but right from the get go there were issues. We waited for a good 10 after being seated to see if anyone would bother taking our drink orders or perhaps give us the update on the daily specials. Finally, she shows up and wait another 7-10 minutes before anything appears. We order the shrimp which showed up after a while and had to be sent back coz it was missing the sauce. We order the mains which for me was the halibut and my partner ordered steak. Halfway through she comes back to inform me that they were out of halibut so I had to order something else. So I ordered the tialpia. Asked for vegetables instead of starch. The fish showed up but there was no sign of steak. waited for the steak and I started eating a bit while my partner just looked on. Steak finally comes out but its missing peppercorn sauce. Another 15 minutes goes by. My fish is cold and my partner has lost her appetite. My vegetables were drenched in some kind of oil or butter- soggy and lacking flavor. My partner abandoned the steak after 2 bites in. When I finally told the manager, she said she would give us free dessert which we dont indulge in. She took off 13 dollars of the bill.
We ended up paying $80 for a meal that neither of us enjoyed or ate for that matter. When we talked to her again at the door, we were met with a shrug and a 'whatever' attitude. We didnt even get an apology.
Absolutely do...
Read moreNot going back. I went in for some brunch this morning. Ordered the breakfast tacos and a coffee. Waited 10 minutes to see the coffee, and then another 10 minutes until the manager comes to tell me that the breakfast potatoes would take 25 minutes to cook if I wanted to wait for them. I said I wasn't interested in waiting that long for my food and the manager kindly offered a substitute of what he called the "dinner potatoes" I agreed. My breakfast tacos showed up, the saddest looking things I seen a waiter hand over. I dove into one. It was ice cold, and missing most of the listed ingredients of guacamole and bacon, kinda the reasons I'd ordered these things. And the "dinner" potatoes seemed like they were taken from the deep fryers filter. Looking around for the waiter, no sign of him. Hungrily I ate a bit more of the sad taco and then decided to wait to talk to someone. Nobody was in my section, No coffee refills. The waiter finally asks me how it all is, I ask him if isn't there supposed to be bacon in these tacos? He says he doubts it and takes off for the kitchen while I'm mentioning the gauc as well. He comes back with 2 of the tiniest and saddest pieces of bacon and plunks them down with a "it appears you were right". I mention the gauc to his back and ask for more coffee too. Nothing.I ate the sad bacon and waited. Having to get on with my day, I ate the rest of it too, wishing I'd just stopped at McDonalds. (Yup, you heard me Milestones, the egg mcmuffin through the drive-through is the preference over your bad food and service.) I had to flag someone down to...
