I went into Tractor at Park Royal at 7:30 PM on a day I believe it was closing at 8:30 PM, after spending about ten minutes just trying to find parking. I understand it’s located in a busy mall, but I needed parking close by because my mom has sciatica, so long walks aren’t always ideal.
When we finally walked in to order bowls, there was already a shortage of food — like the beets, for example. That was fine though, as I realized it was near the end of the day. However, by the time we got to picking the protein, there was no chicken breast, no meatballs, and honestly, barely any protein available. They said it would be a five-minute wait for the new honey harissa chicken, but there was still no chicken breast.
Mind you, the store was going to be open for another hour. I was okay adapting and going with salmon, but the two proteins my mom wanted weren’t available — and wouldn’t be even if we waited. I’m an understanding person, but there were no solutions offered outside of suggesting something you might not even like. It sucks when you pay for something you might not even like when you know already what you do.
I feel like if the staff were trained to let customers know what proteins are available before they start building their bowls, it would save everyone time and money. We didn’t end up getting anything but had already gone through preparing the base of the bowls, which we left behind. If we had known the protein options beforehand, we could have avoided that altogether.
It just felt like there was a lack of customer service in terms of solutions but more so a situation of like, well there isn't anything we...
Read moreAfter a tiresome shopping experience at Park Royal I wanted a good, light, healthy and filling lunch, and that's exactly what this place delivered.
The space is large, bright, clean and airy with great customer service and plenty of lovely healthy options right in front of you served with all health precautions taken on counters that were literally sparkling...Yes, I pay attention to that kind stuff....kind of a neat freak.
The Nourish Bowl with the Salmon was super satisfying with each ingredient not only plenty but fresh and delicious. Post Pandemic you have to be careful to get what you pay for.....you'd be surprised how many businesses cut corners to make an extra buck at the customer's expense (literally)...this place was not like that. You get what you pay for. ( see pic.)
The Everyday Bowl with chicken was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken was hot and it contrasted perfectly with the cold ingredients of the salad. The only food I don't like to eat cold is chicken. Loved this one too. They also gave us a side of hot sauce which I loved, not sure what it was but it was very tasty (see pic.)
Oh, I'll return when I'm in Park Royal...
Read moreThis is our favourite Tractor location to come to when it comes to ambiance and the staff. This is a retro-modern cozy atmosphere where we love to sit and relax and enjoy our food. Other locations can have very loud music, and can tend to have a colder atmosphere or terrible parking. But overall with the staff at this location, we are very well acquainted, so much so that our orders tend to get memorized. We are the customers who have ask little yet specific requests that will complement our meal, but it’s all in the little details and the staff have a positive attitude to accommodate. Even if they run out of brown rice, (You know who we are😉😂) The food never fails, if you eat here, you already know it is great. So no complaints. Also a big thank you to Audaye, as he always has a great attitude, preps our food with care and provides exceptional service. Although we do not live in North Van, it is worth the drive and this will forever be our favourite...
