Bagels on Greene — Restaurant in Westmount

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while and was very disappointed. When we first entered I asked for clarification regarding their sandwich combo options. They were short and dismissive and said "you can pick any sandwich". I was precisely trying to understand what kind of sandwich options they had!

We then ordered three sandwiches with eggs, ham and cheese. They made a mistake in our order and none of the sandwiches had egg in it. When I told them, instead of apologizing and offering to make new sandwiches, they denied their mistake and said I never ordered the sandwiches with eggs. My friend and husband both clearly heard me ordering with egg. By then, my husband had already paid for sandwiches with egg, and all they agreed to do was to fry some eggs and give them on the side.

So in summary, they made a mistake on all 3 sandwiches, we never ended up getting what we ordered and just got some fried egg on the side.

Otherwise, the food quality was mediocre, something I could have made at home in 30 seconds. Literally a croissant, with a slice of cheese and ham. No greens, no sauce, not grilled, nothing else! Maybe all those things were add-on options, but there was no way of knowing since they clearly were not bothered to explain their menu options beyond "any sandwich". The vibe was similar to a high school cafeteria. Very disappointing.

Edit: The owner/manager was very responsive and courteous in responding to my concerns. We tried two other sandwiches from them (a club sandwich and a bagel BLT with egg sandwich). Both were delivered on time, fresh, warm and delicious. Very...

March 2024: Been coming here countless times. This bagel shop and restaurant is pretty decent. They have upgraded their setup with Tv Screens and added a few things but the restaurant still needs to be cleaner and the tables for eating are okay but some are wobbly or crooked.

The smoked salmon bagel is a must it’s good and not bad.

Other than that the place is alright and needs to be better maintained.

One thing I do not like was that they do not have fresh sesame bagels after one to two hours before closing time. I sometimes go there for a dozen bagels and they say, oh! we have some wrapped here in the counter but different kinds or we are sold out for the day. Kind of disappointing for me.

Secondly, I ordered online one time and the staff messed up my order. I ordeed one of their cheese bagels online without sugar on top and when I opened the the box there was sugar on top. I wanted to return it but decided not too since it was not a big deal but was wrong. They need to train employees better on online orders and pickup orders making sure orders being delivered or picked up are correct and accurate.

Customer service is decent as well. They need better training and need to be kinder and happier when dealing with customers.

Other than that A good decent place for your classic bagels and other types of products you can purchase. Their cheese bagels are delicious as well and tasty and have different kinds to choose from.

Edit 2025: This place is unbelievable. My friend decided to buy 3 bagel sandwiches and they managed to screw up all 3. The first one was supposed to have 1 egg & bacon with mustard and all the rest and they put 2 eggs with no bacon. Second one was supposed to be 2 eggs with mayo and the rest, there was 1 egg and no bacon. The last bagel was supposed to be 2 eggs with bacon and mayo etc and there was 2 eggs with no bacon or cheese. They were all supposed to have cheese. I don't understand how you mess up all 3. Do these people understand English or French or are they just incompetent.

I gave this place one star and no review a few months ago because my bagel sandwich was burnt/inedible and they forgot 3 of the items I paid for. Now I'll write a review.

I bought bagel sandwich again this morning and my poppy bagel was completely burnt. I don't understand how you blacken a bagel and then still use it to make a sandwich. It was hard and inedible, I had to throw it out.
