MAISON GU/GOÛT — Restaurant in Westmount

My family and I had a terrible experience on Saturday. We were very disappointed especially due to the google reviews which I have my doubts now are real. I ordered and tipped 4 dishes and they were not freshly cooked, instead reheated in the microwave. I was horrified to taste the chicken in the curry which were frozen store bought and not even properly cooked. We brought back the dish and had to use google translate to communicate with the only worker there who cannot speak English or French. Sharing the receipts as proof of the money we wasted on microwaved food. The advertising and reviews are really deceptive and we couldn’t even express our disappointment which I understand now is done on purpose without any thought for customers. Definitely a zero in customer service. I hope this serves as a warning to others before...

I was hyped with reading the comments but the actual experience was so poor. I believe the main person everyone is raving about wasn’t there. Whoever was - she was extremely unprofessional. I waited for a considerable time and she kept walking by. I finally called her, and ringed the bell, and was dismissive - hinting why I didn’t use the self serve option. I was disappointed that a self serving machine has tips option. Go figure. Waited about good 10 mins before she even realized I ordered, again after calling her. For all their advertising on free sampling and trying, she didn’t even bother explaining what’s in the “chefs special” Handed me this sloppily put together bowl - cold and frankly, disappointing.

The guy at the counter is really friendly and I really liked the free sample. However, what i ordered is completely different from the misleading picture and you can just tell everything is frozen food. Instead of real chicken cutlets they used frozen chicken nuggets and the some of the nuggets were still FROZEN when I had it they have to put it back in the microwave and heat it again.
