When Rockit first opened up in creekside i was stoked to have a new coffee shop replace the evil coffee overlords (starbucks) and they came in strong.
This rock and roll themed cafe is decorated with vintage stereos, posters of famed rock legends like Bowie and Pink Floyd. They really did a great job with this maximalist vintage vibe.
However, they spent much more money on their interior designer than they did on who ever is training these baristas on how to balance their espresso extraction.
I tried really hard to believe it was a one time thing, and then a two time thing, but now what? just a five time thing? i don’t think so. Really annoying to be honestly but until this is all sorted out just grab a late or something with enough milk to mask the bitterness of the over extracted coffee.
also shouldn’t they be playing rock music? I’m all for indie pop i think it’s a great genre but maybe consider committing to the bit.
3 stars instead of 2 though because the croissants looked super good (like really good) but i didn’t get one because i’m not a...
Read morePretty good coffee, and mediocre food and great atmosphere for some.
The coffee is not bad, but not something excellent, dark roast taste burnt and the aroma is pretty much gone. No flavor whatsoever. But not bad, better than Starbucks and McDonald.
Food taste like bought from supermarket and heat up, just like what you get from Starbucks, I’d rather get a cheeseburger.
Nice decoration and interior design, feels like rock and roll and the music match. Not something I would enjoy but, the name already tells what’s going on here, so my fault, not theirs.
I went on Tuesday morning and I felt that the lady at the cashier doesn’t really welcome my visit, I’m seeking for eye contact and she doesn’t really care. No greeting, no smile and no chat. So I don’t know what’s went wrong. Maybe just a bad day for her? Or maybe I’m profiled for my color or race? Or I maybe I’m just being too sensitive? Anyway not a good experience.
I’d go somewhere else for my coffee next time I’m near whistler, so many...
Read moreWent on a Saturday morning so of course it was busy. We didn’t know the establishment was as small as it is so ordered our stuff “for here” and went to look for a table. There was zero seating available inside so we tried to sit outside, but we weren’t dressed for the cold. I went up to the barista and said “I’m so sorry, I don’t know where my order is in the queue, but could we get it to go? We’re not dressed to sit outside.” She was just finishing our order and gave me a look like “REALLLY??”, dumped our drinks in to go cups and pushed them at me. I also asked the gal that came around with our food if we could get the sandwiches in bags. She wasn’t rude, but it’s like we were asking for something super inconvenient and unheard of. It totally threw them off. The place doesn’t feel genuine. Music was way too loud for 9:30am. My boyfriend and I left feeling very agitated. If you want great coffee, great food, and friendly service, go to...
