We didn't have a good experience with this spa just last week. I've lived in town for 4 years and have always been recommended this spa by friends and long term locals. One of the main reasons we were recommended here is because, as it says on the website, you're able to use the pools with any treatment you book. I've never had to personally seek any treatments with them until I realized it was time for a waxing and I had 2 friends that needed to as well, so we booked 3 appointments for facial waxing, which typically comes at a lower cost, but we were just excited to have a mini spa day together and leave looking and feeling good. We were going down to Vancouver for some shopping immediately after our waxing. While we were filling our paperwork, our esthetician came out and asked "So, cheating the system are you?" which felt like she was saying "So, getting the cheapest treatments so you can use the pools, right?". Which we weren't.. We were going to Vancouver. In each of our appointments, we were all privately asked the same question; "So did you book this appointment for the waxing or the pools?" in one form or another. We all left feeling incredibly uncomfortable and insulted. We're 3 clean cut younger 20's long term locals who all work in the customer Service industry and didn't feel like we knew where this came from. After our appointments, we sat in the relaxation rooms uncomfortably before saying "Let's get out of here" On top of this, my upper lip was pretty badly burned and has been peeling, red and dried up for the past 5 days. Read moreI booked an appointment for the signature treatment, and I was mainly excited to try the scrub and the mud wrap. Unfortunately, im allergic to floral essential oils (particularly lavendar) and it's in all of the products, so I wasn't able to get the full treatment. I was given more time with a massage (the spa therapist I saw was lovely) but honestly, I'm disappointed since I would have booked with an RMT to have benefits coverage if I knew I could mostly get a massage treatment. I feel like a high-end spa should have alternatives for people with allergies , and if not, then make it quite clear during the time of booking. Or even.. when I checked in 2 hours before and wrote about it on the intake form?
After that, I then went over to the Cure Lounge with a few friends. It took over an hour and a half for our food to arrive. We asked several times for ETA until eventually we asked to go.. But the server wouldn't bring the drink bill saying food was coming, only to wait more time. This happened a few times over about 30 minutes (1.5 hrs in) we are essentially BEGGING to go. Finally food arrived and they were the wrong dishes.. sent back to the kitchen and wrong dish again! We got discounted meals but this experience was not good from spa to meals..

Although I was satisfied with the services, I was disappointed with the facilities. After my second service, I went to the shower area to freshen up, but I found both showers to be dirty and the floor was wet with dirty towels. Additionally, there was no shampoo or conditioner available, and the hairdryer was not functioning correctly. I shared my feedback with the staff member at the desk, and they apologized for the inconvenience caused and offered me a 25% discount on one service.
While I appreciate the gesture, I believe that the spa should take steps to improve its facilities to match the luxurious experience that is advertised on its website. For instance, it would be great if they could include face creams and other toiletries in the bathroom. I'm confident that these small changes would have a significant impact on customer satisfaction.
