We recently visited this place hoping for a pleasant dining experience but left extremely disappointed. While we paid and even left a tip, what unfolded during our visit was unacceptable.
My orderâthree eggs with rye toastâwas fine in terms of the eggs, but the toast was subpar, and the cut potatoes were bland and poorly prepared. However, the worst part was my wifeâs eggs Benedict. The English muffin was as hard as a piece of woodâcompletely inedible. While the eggs themselves were over cooked, the overall dish was far from satisfactory.
When we politely brought this to the staffâs attention, instead of handling it professionally, the owner or manager began yelling at the server right in front of us. He then approached our table and offered to replace the muffin, but did so without a smile or any sense of basic customer service. It felt more like an obligation than a genuine effort to correct the issue.
We usually stick to our regular and trusted spots, but we decided to give this place a tryâand unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete disaster. As a manager or owner, the priority should be making sure the customer is satisfied, not projecting attitude or blaming staff in front of guests.
Weâve taken photos of our food and the bill and will be forwarding them to the head office. This review is based solely on our experience. We donât judge a place by its prices but by the quality of its food and serviceâboth of which this place failed to deliver. We will not...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed. I ordered 2 peaceâs of halibut and rice for takeout. I got two small peaceâs of halibut and scoop of old rice and dry rice. I looked in the bag and no coleslaw, so I asked I didnât get coleslaw? I was told that it doesnât come with takeout ( they should have that on the menu) also I was told that if I want coleslaw itâs another $2.00, I paid $46.00 for the 2 peaceâs of halibut and rice, two packets of tartare sauce and two packets of vinegar, no condiments whatsoever. All I said was O wow and I took the food and walked out since I paid for it when I placed the order. Not a single person was in the restaurant and that should have been a red flag especially on Friday afternoon. I donât mind paying for food but at least get the same food as when you are sitting in the restaurant. Apparently for takeout you donât get the same amount of food. This is ridiculous and I will not be surprised if they close down the restaurant soon or unless they make changes. If takeout is different then dining in that should be on the menu. I have never been in a fish and chips restaurant that doesnât serve coleslaw. I have been at other locations of halibut house restaurants and I have ordered takeout and got the same amount of food, but this place they are cheap and since itâs a franchise it should be the same as other locations. Iâm just saying, I will never go back there. If you want to stay in business donât cheap...
Read moreLooked forward to our annual Good Friday fish dinner. Called 2 days ahead and preordered because typically it's a long wait if you walk in on Good Friday. We were given a pickup number and time. Arrived on time to pick up and were asked number and told yes, order is in. after seeing people walk in after and leave before, asked about 3 times over an hour to see where order was. was told yes, order was in. finally after more than an hour, was told they lost the order. Had to reorder and told won't take long. After 2 1/2 hours finally left with my order. Manager said no refund or discount available. I will never order from this restaurant again. Why preorder (which was highly recommended by its staff) if walkins were priority. 2 1/2 hours taken away from what should have been a nice evening. Manager...
