The sushi at the display fridge is a joke. If you’re going to get display sushi go to longos I should’ve taken a photo the sushi were all falling apart the ingredients were barely there longos has prettier sushi. I went right in the morning about an hour after opening the lady (assume the owner because as she was older) said they were freshly made LIAR. They were already falling apart!! She kept recommending it to me probably because it’s not fresh and was made the night before and switched labels $20 a combo for the ugliest sushi I have ever seen. Another person in the back came out a recommended me a combo which she freshly made and took less than 5 minutes. So why did the owner lie to me saying it’s takes to long to make a combo? Did u only wanted to sell me rotten sushi from night before? Ps. Me and my coworkers really wanted to get catering as we have large office parties but after the service we got from here with the owner pushing to sell her non fresh products and insisting us to get it saying we can’t afford the fresher ones we will be telling every single person to never order here. I will be contacting the health unit on you guys. I know the stuff she tried to sell me was not fresh. Once we held up the container the sushi fell apart. There wasn’t any ingredient in there but few strand of cucumber and crab so the rice had to be so old it couldn’t even stick together You couldn’t even tell me yourself what sushi was in the container so you definitely put together old stuff and tried selling it and telling me that it takes super long to make fresher combos and that I can’t afford the fresher one just to sell these nasty ones is disgusting behavior. Health unit should be called on. Sushi is mainly raw ingredients so it’s dangerous if...

Was extremely excited to try a new sushi shop in the area! Really lacking a GREAT sushi place.

Unfortunately I will still be looking for one! This little place had so much potential! Not a place to dine in as it is not very inviting.

Walked in to order and was told it would be 25-30mins although I stated I was going to dine in! Seemed understaffed and there didn’t seem to be any urgency with getting orders out. I understand a new place needs to work out kinks, but these were well beyond that. One cashier who in assume is the owner and another young lady, who didn’t seem to be doing much, leaving 2 women to complete what appeared to be a large number of orders.

After waiting 30mins I re-entered to wait another 5-10 minutes to be told my order was ready….I changed my mind and decided to go home to eat. Upon arriving home realized this was not my order!!! (Sorry Cam!)

So back in the car to return to find a gentleman standing outside who stated I had his order (Cam…see previous review!) I entered the restaurant and my correct order was still not ready! 50mins later!

I ended up just getting a refund as it was a complete circus and the confused cashier didn’t help!

So to be fair I did not have the sushi I ordered but had some popcorn shrimp on the way home from my original trip….so my food review is simply the popcorn shrimp which were NOT made fresh and seemed to be what I would buy frozen at a grocery store and throw in the toaster over for 5-10mins! Just a visual look at the sushi, the rolls appeared to be very small and for the price and reading other reviews I’m glad I just got the refund!

Ended up going to The Brock House and had a delicious dinner!

As for the Sushi Shop…I...

I went there for a late lunch today. There were 2 people working. It wasn't busy in the restaurant but there could have been online orders going on. I stood at the counter unacknowledged for 6 minutes. The woman ahead of me was ignored for 10 minutes. I ordered 2 Maki rolls (spicy salmon+avacado & avacado), a miso soup, shrimp tempura and a bubble tea.

I knew it was game over when the (Asian) employee had never heard of a salmon+avacado Maki roll 🤷 ...I had to explain it to her. I also ordered an avacado roll which I never got. The miso soup was awful. Its just water w/ seaweed. I had to add soy sauce to make it edible but even then it was terrible There were 3 pieces of over fried shrimp tempura. It was the colour of Biscoff cookies 🤷 I also ordered a summer strawberry green tea bubble tea. It tasted like soap 😭 ...when I drank half, I noticed it had foam at the top which resembled soap suds and I'm still unsure if it was soap or not but the taste was like dish soap.

This is NOT an authentic sushi place. It's for people who don't eat or know sushi. I'm really surprised bcz this location has Asians working whereas my only other experience at a Sushi Shop has been in Ottawa where a francophone owner ran the business and the sushi was delicious. Especially the typical Maki rolls.

I paid $32 for my food. Complete waste of time+money. I know the management could be bound by franchise standards for the food...but the service was very poor. You can't have one person handle the phone, online orders, and customers standing in-store. The restaurant itself was very...

Not impressed at all. The grocery store sushi tastes and looks better than this! Definitely not worth the money we spent. I don't think the attached pictures can prove the point we are making... We were so excited to try the Sushi Shop because of all the different types of rolls they had and the good reviews. But that's all it has, good looks. The fish was flavourless, the rice seemed a little hard and old, the fish was also discoloured which is off-putting (especially when it's raw!!), the wasabi had no bite to it at all and tasted like soap, the avocado was brown already. It's really sad considering the lady who took my order was really nice and friendly. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location.

We ordered 2 salmon bento boxes and 2 bubble teas with tapioca. As you can see on the menu picture there is miso included. We had to ASK for it cause they "forgot" about it. I guess if we didn't ask they would have just scamed us. But it's still nothing compare to the boba. The tapioca was OLD. The waitress admitted they made it this morning (it's 6pm!!!) and just causally gave us old, disgusting tapioca. You can see it on the photo of the bento box next to the sushi. I couldn't even try to swallow it. 60 dollars for whatever this disaster is... I do not recommend at all.

We tried this newer Japanese restaurant in Brooklin for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed at all! They had a lot of unique food items which you don't usually see at other Japanese restos. Only ala carte items, no All you can eat (AYCE). We had the Umami and Sunrise poke bowls, the Sunkiss maki pairings. Very generous servings on the poke bowls. 😀 Reasonable prices. Approximately $30 per person. It's in a big plaza, so parking is not a problem.
